[the journal picks up a soft, rhythmic sound for a few moments -- the sound of someone brushing a decent length of hair -- before any voice accompanies it]

You know, it's kind of funny. No matter how different everyone is here … We all kind of have a few things in common, right? Even if we can't always understand what another person has been through, or what it could possibly be like to be them … we can all agree, stuff like pies made with string is just plain weird. Right?

[she sighs, putting the hairbrush down, silent for a moment]

Anyways, anyone up for a spar sometime? I think I'm getting a little rusty. Hand to hand, swords, whatever you prefer.

Sparring may be difficult and I don't exactly need to practice, but we may be able to work something out.

Difficult? Why's that?

Being made of metal gives me an unfair advantage, outright attacking a human isn't something I normally go out of my way to do either.

Oh, you don't have to worry about that. I'm no ordinary human.

It's a touch more complicated than that, but if you insist. I'm sure I can figure something out.

Where would you like to meet?

I can break a concrete wall with my bare fist. I promise you won't break me.

The forest? It's usually fairly empty.

Fair enough, I'll meet you there in a bit then?

[hoppin' on out to the forest, then! she'll just be leaning on a tree and paging through the journal whenever he arrives]

[It too long before she's joined by Robot in a scarf, the usual sunglasses are replaced by a simple red helmet with a visor.]

Weren't waiting too long, were you?

[lol ... WHAT A DORKY HELMET ... just kidding, she's closing the journal and setting it to the side with a smile]

[Hey it goes great with his 80's hair! One day he'll get a cool one.]

Alright. I've never sparred before, how do you want to do this?

[ino]

[... laughs]

You agreed so easily without ever sparring before?

[whistles_the_blues]

...I was built for combat. [Only half true.]

I'm confident I can handle myself.

Well, what kind of combat are you built for, specifically?

[whistles_the_blues]

Best suited for hit and run tactics, I can adapt to what ever the situation calls for as well.

[The whole independent thought and will helped for that.]

How's your hand-to-hand?

It should suffice. I can match what you said you said you're capable of.

[she'll get into fightin' position, then, and wait for him to do the same!]

[He does the same, he'll wait for her to make the first move. He wants an idea of what she's capable of so he doesn't go overboard with his strength.]

[ino]

[fine by her! she's zooming towards him at a speed clearly beyond that of a regular person's, aiming a punch at his robo-gut]

[whistles_the_blues]

[He's impressed by her speed, but keeps his cool. One of his hands move to catch her punch while he moves to shove her back with the other.]

[ino]

[oho! she'll just take a moment to shove right back, trying to push him over. INO THIS FIGHT JUST STARTED COOL IT]

[whistles_the_blues]

[He keeps firm and with how heavy he is a push isn't exactly going to just knock him over. This time he'll take a swing at her shoulder.]

[ino]

[she'll be darting backwards when he starts to move to dodge the swing (and also hopefully make him stumble, now that she isn't pushing on him), coming right back at his side with a swing of her own]

[And stumble forward he does! He's a bit too busy trying to catch his balance to block the attack but it doesn't do a whole lot past keeping him from getting his footing back. How does it feel to punch titanium Ino?]
