DAY FOUR - THE ESCAPE
[The doors have been blown up, finally opening the link between both ships. The tunnel joining the two remains in tact, but space suits will be required to ferry people across. Unfortunately, the gravity core of the Event Horizon has been activated - and soon a black hole will form in the middle of the ship. Destination: Hell. The non-corrupted residents need to get their corrupted friends off the Event Horizon and onto the Lewis and Clark, and they have fifteen minutes to do it in.
Of course, the corrupted residents want nothing more than to ride the gravity core into hell, and they'll meet any attempt to remove them from the ship with extreme force. And that timer keeps counting down...]

A knife gleams in her hand. After her confrontation with Anne the night before, she had had to hunt herself up another one.
The explosions had frightened her, made her fully realize that the prey still roaming the ship actually were trying to escape. She couldn't let that happen, now could she? No, no.
She stood in the shadows, waiting and watching. The footsteps alerts her that prey is coming, they're falling into her trap.
She moves swiftly, darting out of the shadows and throwing herself quickly and quietly at the figure]

[But as the evacuation started and he counted people off, he noticed that there was someone missing from his friends. Someone very important that would almost always be there. ]
[A person he couldn't leave behind.]
[And so he excused himself from the clinic evacuations to go looking. He was unharmed, so he could move fast. And running he did, until he found the back of the person he was looking for]

[It doesn't take him long to realize that his friend is unconscious. He darts over, gripping him by the shoulders and timidly shaking him a little.]
Danny, wake up! We... we have to get out of here...
[No response. 5 stands there in shock for a moment-- then grits his teeth, wrapping his arms around Danny's limp form to drag him towards the Lewis and Clark. He's far from strong, but that doesn't deter him. They both have to make it out alive, no matter what.]

He's staggering down the halls, going deeper into the ship with his right arm propped against the nearest wall with gun in hand still. He can't feel his right leg anymore, and his left arm is mostly numb. He's incredibly pale, so it's almost a wonder he's even alive right now.
He eventually stops a moment while panting heavily, leaning against the wall, and quietly muttering incoherently. Under any normal circumstances, he'd have no idea what the hell he was saying, but anyone who can understand it would know he's spouting the same latin words over and over again.
Get near the crazy guy to get him off the ship, y/n?]

And then she sees the corpse. Still. Unmoving. A mockery of everything South had been.
She doesn't waste time in dropping down to her knees beside her, tearing one gauntlet off to feel for a pulse. The skin's already cold to the touch and Carolina pales.
Another teammate she was too slow to save.]

[Phoebe's voice is frantic as she races through the corridors searching for her husband. She pauses only briefly to glance at any corpse she passes, despite the ache in her heart that tells her that he's still alive. Lucrezia settles in a room near the blast, having closed the door before clearing some space on the floor for her brother to rest. He said he's tired. He must be, after days of looking for her. The least she can do is let him rest his head on her lap, hold his hand, and wait. Her other palm settles against his face, stroking her thumb against his cheek. ]
He will be here soon. The one I told you of.
[ The one he drove away, but no longer surely, after this rescue. After a moment, she remembers to sing under her breath so Joshua can find them. Then the three of them will return to the castle and everything will be well. Better, because her brother will be there too. ]
no subject
The coldness that spreads through his limbs is something else though. He's felt it before, and he slowly becomes aware of how his body is shaking as he lie there on the floor. Being held by someone. It's all horribly confusing.
When he glances up and sees the woman holding him, he knows for sure that she's not who he may have imagined the moment before she spoke. But considering the current state of things, she's not a bad substitute.]
That's a nice song. [He smiles, although he can barely hear it past the ringing in his ears. And so he keeps listening as he closes his eyes, concentrating so hard on the sound of her voice that everything else starts to slip away.]

Corrupted Ashura
He was sitting in a hall, his hand gripping the make-shift blade that had already cut his hands so much, his face half covered in blood - some his own, where BladeWolf had hit him the other day and knocked him out to stop him from reaching the center.
He was humming quietly to himself, sometimes whispering off words and reaching up to rub at the torque on his throat, smearing it with blood, tarnishing the gold and the ruby. ]
I'm coming, just wait for me, I'm coming... It's over, I'm coming...
Re: Corrupted Ashura
Hey .. elf ... person ...it's time to go. We're getting out of here.
[She approached cautiously, because the person was literally smeared with blood. She hadn't seen something like this since the Games - and even this wasn't so - so - disturbing. Still, she steeled herself. He was alive, and he needed to be saved. If she had to cold cock him, she'd do it.]

Sheena | OTA (but read ooc note below)
On second thought, she decides to follow Lloyd's advice about writing a letter. Why not do the same thing here? This way, she can say what she wants, and add on with every trespass. With that decision made, she begins to head off, not towards the clinic--even though her injuries kind of demand that she do so--but in search of her friends from home. All of them.
Wiping the tears from her eyes, she mentally curses the Chosen. A normal reaction, even though she really wouldn't expect less from any of them, and would react the same in any case. She's in the middle of a particularly long one that threatens to become spoken when the explosions go off, and fearing the worse, she heads off, ignoring the pain as she hopes that no more people were hurt.
She kids to a halt and grabs a wall for support when she sees bodies--warm, living bodies coming on to the ship, and her eyes grow wide.]
What's going on?
[ooc: Sheena's okay... sorta...now. But she may succumb to the madness again and want to stay. Or stay to find survivors, either way, Utena will be the one dragging her out.]
no subject
Then she sees Sheena. Whoever this woman is, she's not ranting, she's not raving, and she's not threatening anyone. She's sane. Relief floods her senses, and she gives a grateful smile.]
The Lewis and Clark Calvalry, that's what! Just follow me, okay? We'll get you safe and sound in no time, I promise.

But if anything, Paradisa always was and continues to be a learning experience.
He's got a spacesuit on and is carrying an extra one with him, just a single one, allowing himself the selfishness of tracking down and dragging out the only woman he'd ever loved. It's only fifteen minutes. He probably couldn't save anyone else even if he wanted to, in that short of a timeframe.]
no subject
But she can't run anymore. She's been awake for nearing seventy-two hours, and even if she'd slept, she's lost so much blood that she can barely move. Dragging around the now-battered corpse of her friend (something she'd simply felt compelled to do) has sapped the last of her energy.
Besides, she's supposed to die. They all are. The ship said so, the visions said so, everything said so. Why fight anymore?
So Molotov has simply dropped in a hallway, curled in the fetal position, her torn arms wrapped around House's dead neck. She's awake, though, still terrified of what's coming for her.]

She was already sitting there and slowly bleeding out from a bullet wound to the leg, anyway, not that anyone could easily tell what was what when her dress is all shredded and singed, and she's already splattered with blood and smeared with soot. The ever present sound of her wailing is as hard to miss as the lingering stench of sulfur. ]

Hellboy didn't know what he was expecting, but it wasn't... this.
There isn't enough time to dwell on it, though; he hoofs it over to the first person he sees who looks like they need help. Of course it's the bloodied, wailing woman. That's usually how these things go.]

Tim, Cass, Stephanie, misc anyone with them?
There are still people down there. She can see a few of them. In the last minutes, when the ship is already starting to pitch, she knows she can't get to them and get them out safely in time. It would be crazy to try.
But it'd be crazy to let them go down without trying, too. It's been screaming around in her head this whole time, on this ship, remembering all the people she's failed, all the people she didn't go back for, people who never even asked for her help but she owed anyway. All the times she hadn't been there when she should have, when she was selfish, when she was immature––
She has to set it right.
Kara reaches for Steph. She talks rapidly, rushed.]
I'm going after the stragglers –– I can't let them go down with the ship. [The ship jerks, rumbling out a long moan of creaking metal. There's not much time left.] And if I can't get them off, I'll see them through to the other side and protect them there.
[Truthfully, she's terrified. She's been in all manners of fights and wars, she's been in countless situations with her own life in the balance, she's been trusted with the world's safety, and she's clawed her way to victory every time, but she's still afraid. Who wouldn't be, in a situation unlike any other, wherein death is a looming threat? You'd have to be insane, ignorant or absolutely emotionless to face your own death for the mere chance to save others and not feel any fear.
But this is what she's meant to do, and she has the bravery to do it regardless of any fear.]
I'll be back! I promise.
no subject
[She hears the words, understands them, but can't really respond with much else, staring at Kara's face. She knows that look. She might not know the specifics behind it, but she understands that determination, and wouldn't expect any less of her BFF. There would be no arguing over this.
Her fingers dig into Kara's arms. She's Supergirl. If anyone was going to make a difference in all of this, save people, and come out unscathed, it would be her.
Still, letting go is difficult.]
Right. We'll see you soon, okay?
[She lets go of her arms to give her a quick, firm hug.]
