From what I've seen, no. Can't hurt to try, I suppose. Sometimes the castle changes your loss on a whim, too. Of course, that just means you'd lose something different in the process. Something maybe even more valuable.

It does take memories. But they're usually precious ones, so be careful with that.

I lost my sword...any sword, actually. [There's a pause] I never used it, but I kept it as a deterrent. People are less likely to attack someone with a sword, and if they don't attack me, I don't have to kill anyone in self defence.

I could, but the second I'd touch it, it'd vanish, or my hand would go right through it. No swords for me.

Good, they might be a little harder to load than guns, but they still do fairly decent damage.
