[And there, sitting on the docks, is a cruise ship. It seems a man from InGen is waiting by the hull to greet them, a wide smile on his face]

Please accept InGen's humblest apologies for this little...mix up. We are offering you a week stay in a luxury hotel in the beautiful city of San Diego. We should arrive here this evening.

[He bustles them along inside, where all those folks who didn't get to spend a hellish four days on a dinosaur infested island are waiting for them]

[Henry is scratched, battered, smeared in mud, and just this side of exhausted, but he refuses to even sit down before he's located everyone he knows and made sure they're all still breathing.

The effect of the past three days on him is softened by the sheer relief that's all over his face from just being on the ship.]

[Oh good, you're still alive. He'll add a tick to his mental tally of People He Doesn't Want to Die. Another one safe]

Been here the whole time. Apparently, I missed dinosaurs. You okay, kiddo?

Yeah, I'm okay.

[For all he's been though, he can't completely bury the part of him that's a ten-year-old boy with dinosaur figurines.]

They were real dinosaurs. Live ones. There were babies and everything.

Baby ones, too huh? And none of them hurt you? I heard it got pretty dangerous over there.

[fantasies]

It-- [He hesitates.] They chased us. But it was okay, Arya and Allen made sure I was safe.

[He sounds a little dejected about that. That he was the one who needed protecting.]

[He catches that tone]

Well, Allen and Arya are pretty tough cookies. I know if I was in your place, they'd probably have to protect me, too.

[fantasies]

[Henry smiles despite himself.]

Yeah, well, you're kinda... [He gestures to Once's leg.]

Horribly crippled?

[fantasies]

No. Just, you know. [He shrugs.] Kinda wobbly.

Yeah, you got me there. I don't think I'd have been of any use hobbling away from anything that wanted to eat me.

[fantasies]

[He won't dispute that, but he also doesn't really want to think about it too much, so:]

Was it at least fun here? Or were you just sitting around waiting for us?

I was panicking a little too much to actually have fun.

[fantasies]

Oh. Right. [His expression gets a little sheepish.] You could hear stuff over the journals, huh?

[Yeah you be sheepish young man]

[fantasies]

Sorry. [He won't say they all got out of it okay, because honestly, not all of them did.] It sucks to be stuck somewhere when everybody else has to fight something.

[He's a kid. He gets kitchened a lot. He knows the feeling.]

At least you're all safe now. I guess I should be glad, I couldn't have helped anyone anyway.

Don't feel bad. I just ran away for most of it. [But he doesn't really want to go back to that.] It was fun in the beginning. When it was just the leaf-eating kinds of dinosaurs, you know.

Good, I'm glad you did. That's the smart thing to do. [He chuckles] Yeah, it's all nice until something that wants to eat you shows up.

[fantasies]

I don't even think they really wanted to eat us. Well, the T-Rexes anyway. At first.

[whichwayyoulean]

...You sure about that? I'm pretty certain that's their M.O.

[fantasies]

I think they were looking for something. At first.

[The 'at first' is important in this story.]

...What could dinosaurs possibly be looking for that's not a meal?

[fantasies]

Beats me. But they were sniffing around before they chased us. You know, kind of like dogs do when they look for stuff.

[whichwayyoulean]

Huh. That's pretty weird. You sure they weren't just sniffing for food?

[fantasies]

If they were, they weren't trying that hard. They didn't even chase us into the trees.
