BACKDATED TO VALENTINES DAY STUFF | action | journal
[ So, Duke has been stuck in a room with Maine for the past – nearly past three days.
You can only spend so much of three days sleeping out of boredom. Particularly with someone who was verbally grouchy about the lack of light, and when the castle decided that because they weren't getting along it should provide them with some aromatherapy.
A cave that smelled heavily of musk was not the best place to be stuck, blind man or sighted one.
Duke had been trying to block out Maine-noises – the sounds of the man rather moving about in a rather foul mood – and so he didn't notice when Maine had made his way about the room, over toward where Duke had been doing his best to ignore the scents and sounds by staying more or less within his blanket nest until the man had... more or less stepped on him. And Maine didn't do that normal flinch that normal, not-grumpy humans did when they realized that they'd just stepped on another human being.
Duke's jerk – because this guy was heavy - knocks his journal open in time to catch him more or less snarl - ]
Keep your foul mood to yourself! [ And because he's that grumpy, Duke hooks his arm for the back of Maine's knee to try to shove him in retaliation. ]
((OOC: Due to magical castle timing, the valentines day lockdown thing will unlock the room more or less anytime where they're too busy trying to beat each other up to notice that the doors open. Since Duke's room is a cave, and he can't see, the lights won't turn on so they won't notice. FEEL FREE TO COME IN TO STOP THEM. /o/ Duke will be throwing spells (feel free to notice that), Maine will be blind rage punching, separate at your own risk |D ))

Duke needs to not pick physical fights with people physically stronger than him, because Maine yanks back and sort of.. pulls him a little with him. ]
Oh terrible wolf whose lamentations echo through the heavens....[ So have some sudden light, Maine. Duke's gathering some black-purple light - yes, it is actually light, despite the dark color. Does his voice sound strangely echoing? Not in Maine's imagination. ]
Bloody Howling. [ And that hexagon of pale-purple under a good quarter of the room, but centered about them is some more light. As are the pale blue candle flames at the corners. Maine might want to run before the streamers of darkness and screeching starts. ]

Enjoy the screaming blackness as Duke grunts and rolls away. How exactly it feels would be somewhat.. hard to describe beyond it was most definitely an attack. Of a magical sort.
Duke gets to his feet against the wall, using that to place where he is in his room, still turned toward Maine and his spell. His ribs hurt, and that isn't very comfortable.
He's wavering on deciding exactly what to do next. ]

Duke's listening to figure out what Maine is going to do next. He's irritated enough that he's completely willing to launch another spell, but it seems like a bit of overkill if Maine had not withstood the first one. ]

Light, grant me thy power... [ He's going to heal himself. ]

That would be a wall behind him, wouldn't it. ]
Unleash thy fiery breath! [ He is going to give a rush job on this one and here is some bright red lights and an orb of fiery lines above his head as he just.. slumps to the floor. He should catch his breath.
Feels like fire too. ]
Flame Dragon!

The winds can abide you no longer! [ A good green glow to him now. ]
Tempest! [ Maine might want to watch out for the tornado that's starting. And for the thunder that sounds like it's gathering above his head. ]

Stop Flow would be useful if he wanted to try to punch Maine in the face, but it was clearly a loosing battle for Duke to get close. That, and it was particularly draining.
He has the feeling that he should have looked into more of the lower level spells while here, but that's ignored as he starts up something that glows red.
But he's not speaking this time. ]

Duke puts his arms up in a defensive set, even as he completes the spell. ]
Meteor Swarm! [ Maine can guess what this one does. All guesses don't count when meteors start showing up. The problem with Duke's spell? It isn't aimed, but seem to be scattered about an area. Even if the meteors were all larger than Duke in diameter, they fall randomly. One may clip Maine, while the other hits the other side of the room. ]

Duke sidesteps the moment his spell lets go of him - perhaps that's why one can't cast and walk - but Maine clips his shoulder and sort of aids his getting away, sort of hinders it. Duke's not moving in the direction he thought he was anymore. ]
Mind if I bud in? :3c
Come on kids, you've got to learn to play nice once in awhile.
[He might looked relaxed and not caring but he's ready to spring up and kick anyones ass if they so much as looked like they were going to continue. He gives Duke a wry smile]
Duke, don't think that fighting always finish the ame as Tarqaron.
Go right ahead!
/o/ all the interruptions
And from the looks of things, Maine didn't use any weapons so Duke thinks he's getting shoved by him - even if it was a lighter shove and not a punch - which was weird, but Duke should stop trying to think about little things while fighting.
Which is why as he's falling from that shove while he's off balance, he sort of flails to hit Yuri's knee.
Then he registers Yuri's voice.
... oops. ]
..... Expected different end there. [ oh. Now that he's somewhat sprawled on the ground, he's realizing his ribs really hurt. ]
Whoot \o\ Ref Yuri is here sorry for late ><
He glances at Duke and almost asks if Dukes okay but ow Duke, way to say thanks for saving him by taking out his knee. He hops a bit away but still making sure he's inbetween the two.]
Heh. People are just full of surprises that way.
[He puts his attention to the other guy]
So what exactly has been going on for you to try and kill each other?
no subject
He started it.

He stepped on me. [ And have you noticed how the room stinks of scented candle badness and how the lights are off? ]

I guess wars have been started over something as ridiculous as that.
[He throws his sheath aside and rest his blade on his shoulder]
If you want to continue, you're going to have a bit more trouble on your hands. If not, the door's open.

Just get out of my room. [ A bit empty of a snap. Duke's just pushed himself up from the ground to a sit, but there's a grumpy stare in Maine's direction. ]

This guy talks as much as you do, Duke.
[He looks at Duke when he hears him shuffling around, notcing he's kinda worse for wear.]
You alright?

He's not going to admit to being in some nasty pain while Maine's in his room, so silence. ]
