[There's the sounds of a café in the City Royale being broadcast through the journals, someone obviously partaking breakfast out in the city for a change.]

We've been getting a lot of new people showing up injured recently. It makes me think just how bad other worlds get.

[A pause as Carson takes a sip of tea.]

Or Paradisa is getting a wee bit sadistic in it's selection criteria.

[It's a passing comment, as he's already moving to sit at the table nearest to Carson, before tugging off his helmet. Mostly so he could take a sip from his own cup.]

No, I haven't seen you either, Rookie. Been on a loss?

And, aye, I'll agree that it's getting a wee bit worse.

No. Nothing like that, just haven't been getting out much.

[Though that's starting to change a little. He's been making a point to wander into town a lot more lately.]

But I suppose it's not much of a surprise. Lot of people who are here already come from pretty tough backgrounds.

Aye, me too. I thought breakfast in the city would be a nice wee change.

[And it was! He was getting to speak to quite a few people. Nothing like a good bit of breakfast conversation.]

Aye, which makes me wonder about who the castle chooses. We don't have anyone here that can be considered 'normal.'

Same here. [Though that's all he's going to say on the subject, given it was his girlfriend who technically gave him the idea. He does seem to give a small grin from behind his cup, though, hearing that.]

I think I know a couple who might fall under that category. [A second of silence, mostly to reconsider that thought.] ... Then again, I suppose they also have their own unique qualities about them too.

This is what I'm saying. The castle doesn't pick office workers, or people with 9-5's. It's always someone with a special circumstance...
