3 Salvaged Memory Boards
[Huey has been a very, very busy man since he came to Paradisa. Today finds him finally finished with several projects, so he's up on the roof, with an oversized umbrella covering him and his wheelchair, enjoying the smell of the rain. His journal is open in his lap, and he starts penning in filters, needing to get some stuff done.]
[Filtered to Father Tres]
Your order's ready. Would you like to come inspect them? Otherwise I was just gonna have the castle's ghosts deliver them wherever you're staying.
[Filtered to Tavros]
Hey buddy, your wheelchair's just about done. If you've got time though, could you come by the Pietas Tower? I'm in room 1509. I wanna fit you for your seat. It's a full-length seat like mine, I just need to get the contours of your back and stuff right. Whenever you're not busy, I mean.
[Filtered to Kara Thrace]
Hey, I'm finally not busy. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, with the projects I've had going. Still interested in getting a drink?
[His filters finally done, he glances up at the sky, noting how hard it's raining.]
Wow, this is some crazy weather we're having, huh? Last time I saw it rain this hard, it was the wet season in Costa Rica. Couldn't hardly go anywhere outside for the mud.

Oh. Um, was the tower a thing that you said? Does it have a lifting device installed, because, I can't get up stairs yet.
Filter!
[Now he gets to work, setting up the pressure-sensitive styrofoam molding material he'll use to take an impression of Tavros's back and bottom, so he can have the seat made to support him, and moving some of his other half-finished projects out of the way. Half-finished robots of various types litter the floor, and the large, cylindrical AI Pod Huey's been working on sits in a corner, it's HAL-like eye slowly pulsing. The wheelchair itself sits not far from the door, currently seatless, but otherwise finished and operational. It's smaller in scale than Huey's own, but otherwise a perfect duplicate, aside of the brown taurus symbol Huey painted on the back of it.]

[It takes him a long while, but eventually there's a tentative knock on the door.]
no subject
C'mon in Tavros! There's a button to the right of the door in the shape of a wheelchair. Pressing it will open the door for you!
no subject
[A minute later he's rolling in, looking at everything with great interest. The AI pod catches his attention at first but then he sees the chair and makes an embarrassingly happy sound.]
It looks wonderful, already!
no subject
Thanks! It wasn't hard to get done, once I got rolling on it. About all that's left to do, aside of fitting you for the seat, is to do the calibration on the ascent and descent programs, so they'll respond properly when you engage them on the stairs. It's all about how fast they get the front wheels rotating, versus how much you weigh, and how fast you wanna be able to go up and down the stairs. I prefer a slower speed myself, but that's only because I get so nervous around stairs.
[He coughs nervously.]
Anyway, what we're gonna do now is have you lay down on this styrofoam pad here. It's made of a special type of material that'll take an exact impression of your back and bottom, that I can use to craft a seat that'll give you proper back support, so you won't get sore from sitting as long as we do. It'll feel a little funny, but it won't take but a minute. Then I'll get working on making your seat, and then we can test the chair out, get you familiar with how it all works.
[He looks over at the two ghosts he's called for this.]
Hey guys? I'll need you to gently lift up Tavros here, and lower him onto the pad we've laid out. Got that?
[The ghosts seem to understand, but as usual, they don't respond.]
Okay. Ready Tavros?
no subject
I think, I would like to take stairs slowly, because falling down them is a thing that's not very good. And the chair looks like it would be heavy, if it fell on top of me.
And that is what the foam does? I like the chair a lot already, and I haven't even sat in it, yet.
[He obviously doesn't like the look of the ghosts but he does nod, and manages to make it a firm one.] Yes.
no subject
[He nods.]
It's a fascinating sort of material. It holds the shape of whatever kind of pressure is applied to it, making it handy for making molds of things with more natural curves.
[He nods to the ghosts, who flank Tavros on either side, gently lifting him up by the arms.]
Okay, hold on tight while they life you into position.
[The ghosts will glide Tavros over the styrofoam pads, gently setting him down on them, and encouraging him to lie back.]
I'll be honest with you, I didn't wanna ask for the ghost's help, but in a circumstance like this, it was kind of unavoidable.
no subject
[He says that rather cheerfully though, because it's exciting, even if he doesn't like the ghosts. He lies back when encouraged and makes an interested sound.]
Oh. It feels nice.
