twenty-third twist of the coil
[Hey, Paradisa! It's your favorite jerk of a vampire scientist. And today, due to the fact that he's easily bored, he's going to ask a question of you all, just to see what sort of answers he will get.]
So, this is more out of curiosity than anything, but what, in your opinion, is the most important invention in the world, and why? Like, what changed the world more than anything else that has ever been created by human hands?
...
If any one of you says the light bulb or the wheel, I am going to seriously ask you how in the world you survive with such an unoriginal point of view. I mean, really, I need some more creative answers than that.

More generalized, anything that became a weapon.

So, what are these things, world shields of some kind? How do they work? Energy source, other possible functions?
I don't come from where you come from, so I am at a loss as to consider whether those are good inventions or not.
And really, "anything that became a weapon". How barbaric of you. But I suppose, the invention of key weapons helped turn the tide of wars and the world, so I can understand how much worth they are.
Dictated
Would you argue that the world would not be what it is for you, if humans had not discovered means to defend themselves.... or attack? Not only your "key weapons", but the basics that start problems in hands of those who don't fully understand what they are using? [ Of course he's barbaric, he's human. Perhaps faintly amused. ]

I swear, half of that sounded like something you would read in an overly cheesy fantasy novel. It's formed from lives, what is that supposed to mean, life energy? Don't tell me it's souls. Because I think I draw the line of unbelievability at souls.
[He muses that for a few seconds.] I guess you have a point. True, we wouldn't be anywhere if humanity's ancestors didn't scrounge up sticks and stones to break other people's bones. So, the invention of the weapon, though it's not really credited to one person, is pretty noteworthy.

Correct, life energy. Those who wish to cast a better light on the situation may use the word 'soul', but it is a concentration - a crystallization - of the power of all the Children of the Full Moon who wished to meet this end in protection. The power of their life, not.. any sort of supposed consciousness.
... ah. Were seeking a name of a creator.
Dictated
Ugh. [Tesla doesn't like this magic and "life energy" stuff, he likes cold hard logical science.]
I don't suppose you have anything that doesn't rely on mythical subtances of the body, or things that rely on energy that can actually be measured by scientific means, do you?
Dictated
Have only begun to harness the power of anything aside from Aer, not something even looked into. Shortsighted.
