It's Alan. Are you busy? I'd like to reevaluate Castle evacuation plans. Especially how things should be handled during a world change, despite their unpredictability.

If we can improve the foundation, we can increase both efficiency and effectiveness.

Hello. My name is Alan Bradley. If you can see this filter, then I think we should meet to discuss how the Castle works. Find our own answers rather than depend on the Castle for something that may be sketchy at best - maybe it could lead to a way home.

Mark mentioned this a few weeks ago. A friend of mine with a knack for the subject believed the Castle's "magic" was just another form of energy. Based on the data found in the mirrored world, the primary source of this energy is "the human soul and its wide range of emotions".

If we're its primary sources, what are its secondary sources? The non-humans who end up here?

Furthermore, energy is never created or destroyed, just turned into forms we can't use yet. So what form is it when the "soul" or emotions give it off? What do we generate it from, and just how much of it does the Castle need to sustain itself?

If we can cut off its hold on us, stop being its energy source - then we're getting somewhere.

Give it some thought, let me know what you think - and if you're interested. A meeting would be best, and we can see about the possibility of rigging something together to test our theories.

Getting somewhere to where? D'you think messing around with breaking that connection would help us, or put us in control, or would the castle die and us with it like Libet did, or just pull in more people from outworld to fuel itself?
payback: (open; I'll still be running.)

You weren't here the Christmas, ahh... two years ago, I think it was, now. Were you?

Several of the most powerful residents here... well, I don't know how to put it. They lost some of their self-awareness, and they went to join the townspeople, and became like them... if they were taken outside into the dead zone, their urge to return was nearly unbearable for them and they fought to come back.

No. When we tore apart the whole building, the castle decided to let them go, I guess, and they returned to themselves. The castle hadn't been taking in new residents for that time, and it started doing that again. And everything went back to normal.

As always. I think it might be better to swim across the current then against it though.

Talk to the castle? Keep exploring the world outside? The outside world is where I think we'll get anything if there's anything to get.

Right, so that's what I think is the best.
