[well, guess what finally just clicked in Dextera's head? that his not-really-his birthday had passed a long time ago. he could now be considered '21', though the significance of it was slightly lost on him. but it was more than zero so that was good.

but he was stuck again. what did one do when their age changed? maybe the people here could help him again, so after a minute Dextera writes out a question.]


What do you do on a 'birthday'? Besides becoming older.

I usually go for a drink with my pals. Sometimes I throw a party. How old are you becoming?

Twenty-one. Does it change if your age is different?

What kind of party you have change, yeah. When you're small it's cake and friends, when you gets older there could be alcohol involved or just a casual one with friends. When you're like 40 there's not much to celebrate. But you always gets presents no matter how old you are. [Harry smiles] So 21, ey? Means you get to go to the pub, mate.

A place where you go to get drunk and/or meet people. You don't got much experience of stuff like that? [Harry realize that maybe pubs doesn't exist in this guys world so he'll try to explain as good as he can] Hm, well a pub is a building along a road. There are different types of pubs. Some are open all day and severs food while others only open late in a day, like 10pm-4am. They often have a dance floor where a DJ plays music you can dance to and all of them has a bar where you can order beer or drinks. [There, that should be a good enough explanation] Oh yeah they're only open for adults due to the alcohol.

It's not an obligation, no. But people generally do if they want said presents. And...people who know you tend to feel it's their obligation to help you celebrate it.

i believe the human custom is to throw a big party with lots of cake
and for your friends to get you things

its sort of a guessing game for your friends though unless you tell them what you want specifically
otherwise they just find you something they think youll like
but that might turn out to be awful
