[open; filtered away from Arthur Pendragon]
[when she begins to write, it's all perfect and neat, a happy occasion for her at least. This isn't quite a written invite but near enough...] This is not the usual way to go about such matters, but then this is not the usual place is it?
All the same, whilst I am sure this does not matter so much to many in the normal sense, I would like to extend an invitation to you all. To celebrate the anniversary of not only my coronation, but that of his His Majesty, Arthur Pendragon, as we share the same day that we began our rule of England. For me it has been some twenty five years as queen, but for him, something less I am sure.
To put it simply, it is one of the more important days of the year. One that is difficult to even find words for, but it is a poor one to spend alone. So your company, should it be in good spirits, will be much appreciated. This is open invitation for any friend or family of Arthur's and any of mine to join us in the Ballroom on the 17th of this month.
Regards,
Elizabeth Tudor,
By the Grace of God,
Queen of England, Ireland and France, Defender of the Faith.

[she words this very carefully, since she's already worked out he has no great love of large gatherings, but he seemed as miserable about his birthday as she did hers.]
My lord, since you made mention of it, it's occurred to me that the day of our coronation draws near, and I was wondering if you would like to celebrate it with me? Better is the company that shares the joy, nay?

[Blunt in tone, but completely without context. Just the way he likes it.]

... Why? Why what? For surely there are many things to ask why of, and I cannot answer them all.

Because every day this comes, it is another year that I have survived past my enemies that have tried to kill me.
[ Filter ]
Should call it that, then. Much more interesting.
[ Filter ]
Ah, some how I do not believe people would be interested in the full extent of my crimes for my country.

See, now that sounds like fun.

Well, you're welcome to tell me what you have worked out already. Not that you'll get a straight answer of course, but I doubt you want one either.

He hedges to hide it, instead.]
I'm not in the business of giving partial results. You'll have to wait a bit, unfortunately.
[ Filter ]
Though, I'll take it that you aren't cheating and using those history books they keep on me. [because it would be, her life was ripped apart in those.]

[she oddly feels... pleased. Complimented, even.]

[Very arrogant, to a certain degree, but not about that which people assumed. The armada, for instance, just left her feeling tired and bitter.]

I should like to issue an invitation if you will? Just to dinner, that is all.
[ Filter ]
There's a brief, awkward pause.]
I've been told I'm not the most ideal dinner guest.
[understatement]

I'm not easily controlled.
[It's a warning, but he says it more like a reason for him to go rather than one against.]
[ Filter ]
Nor am I.
[the amusement, and smirk in her voice is plain.]
There's no sport in it otherwise.
