[At about noon on Saturday, the door to Insolitus creeps open, and a tall, dirty, smelly man with a full beard tumbles out of it. Did you know Sam Winchester was participating in No Shave November? Trust him when he says it was an event he would have preferred to skip.

He lays there on the floor for a moment, his eyes pinched closed as they adjust to the light. He's maybe there for about five minutes before he hears the familiar smack of his journal hitting the floor just over his head, probably open.

There's a loud groan, followed by a muttered:]

I hate you.

[That's mostly directed at the castle, for the record.

After that, he'll push up to his feed and make his way back down to his room on the third floor. Feel free to catch him anywhere in the middle, but he probably won't be inclined to talk to you for long. He really, really wants a shower. The journal will close once it hits the bed in his room, and Sam will disappear into the shower.

Once he's clean, shaved and in a fresh set of clothes, he'll pick up the journal again, trying to figure out where to even start in catching up. Eventually, a few filters will appear on the page.]

Sorry for disappearing like that. Apparently the castle doesn't really care that you're running a business when it tries to send you on a magical mystery tour.

So is everything okay? Nothing burned down or exploded while I was gone?

Apparently the castle thought that it would be fun to let me explore Insolitus for a month. Let me just say that it's not the most ideal vacation spot.

[his pen taps against the journal for a moment, before continuing]

So, uh. Did I miss anything important?

[another pause]

Oh, and where are my dogs?

[Action section is open, if you want to encounter the caveman. As for the friends filter, if you think you're on it, you're on it!]

Not much, regular castle stuff, really. A loss or two there, people bitching about various things, a virus which turned half the population into raving lunatics.

[ At hearing Sam's voice, Dean drops the book in his hand ('The Secrets of the Jedi' ... oh, cut him some slack -- much to learn, there is) and reaches for the journal. He'd been spending time at the library attempting to look for more clues about the castle in order to better understand whatever it is they're dealing with here, but none of what he's learned has proved to be at all useful in helping to reach Sam.

(After a while, it just seemed like all he could do was wait for the castle to spit his little brother out and spit him out, it did. Now that just pisses him off.) ]

What the hell, Sammy.

[Sam's relieved to hear Dean's voice on the other end of the line, but the fact that he's pissed at him is a little awkward.]

Hey -- it wasn't exactly my idea of a good time, alright? I wanted out of there. The castle had other ideas.

Well, you obviously didn't sleepwalk your way into the friggin' maze. So what happened? [ He's getting up and leaving the library and heading over to you, Sam, because this journal thing is still weird no matter how many times he's seen people using them the way they do in order to communicate. ]
