This is it! The big day, when all your years (or minutes) of training will finally come to fruition in the Olympic arena! I bet you couldn't even sleep last night from excitement (or from being crammed into a tube for eight hours). Unfortunately, a last-minute announcement will be putting a damper on things.

With all the events either totally cancelled or pending (#spoiler alert), and no effective curfew, you pretty much have the run of the station today. Try not to break anything! Or at least, not any worse than it's already broken...

[Early this morning, as you're all headed off to your events, an important announcement comes over the intercom...]

Attention all athletes! Let it be known by every nation, from this point on you'll only get one meal a day. There was a bit of a budget snafu, and it turns out food funding is insufficient!

I've been told to inform you, your curfew is at eight o'clock. It doesn't say whether that's AM or PM, though. And it's not like we can really enforce it, as there is no light or sound. Just one of the many problems with hosting a sporting event in space!

Oh, and there are minor scheduling adjustments...

Space Disk is totally cancelled! Space Swords is totally cancelled! Space Luge... is also cancelled! And all other events are pending.

[Ahh, the athletes' cafeteria. It's basically like the mess hall on a submarine, and only marginally less cramped. Your one meal for the day comes packed in a plain cardboard box, and doesn't come close to filling it. Good luck getting the staff to give you more, though. It seems the foppish Olympic coordinator is here personally to enforce the rationing, even though he's clearly got other things on his mind...]

[The whole rest of the ship is pretty much open to you today. It's not very impressive for the most part, and if you get into the back areas or go crawling around the vents, you may realize the crew has their hands full with a litany of flashing red lights and mechanical failures. You could try to fix it, or try to make it worse, whichever...

If you're not as inclined to exploring, you can hang out at your tiny quarters or the observation deck or whatever. Or keep practicing your sport, if you want. It's a free space country.]

Anyway, he brushes by this guy, only pausing when he's a few steps past. Despite the doom that's in the air, he sounds totally calm.]
