Twenty Seven Spoons {Action/Dictated; Backdated to before the Masquerade}

[She had been far too tired from the expedition to notice something strange in her room - but that was yesterday, and this was today. Today, there was definitely something new in her room. A big, metal, definitely cannot bake but still very thoughtful something.

The first thing Jane did was tear right down the stairs, down the Satis Tower, down to the third floor. Dirk had fixed Anna! She had to thank him! She had to give him the biggest hug she could and-

-His name was gone from his door.

At first Jane thought she'd come to the wrong room, and she checked the others on the floor, but no luck. She opened the door without bothering to knock, and an empty place stared back at her.

The door was shut with a slam, and Jane pressed her back to it. She slid down it until she could curl up around her knees - not to cry, but to think, and take long, tired breaths.]

[Finally, after some time, she could bring herself to pull out her journal.]

Dirk's left. He's...back in the game. Back to knowing what's going on. Just like he wanted.

It just...really hurts that he's gone.
We'd made a lot of headway in regards to...you know. Things.
If he ever comes back, there's a good chance he won't remember, and I know I can't do anything about, that, but...
I don't want to go through everything again. Once was enough!

Understandably. Sucks when your friends leave, even if you want to be happy for them. I'm not sure if I'm meant to be jealous of them or...

Right. Well family or no, it's no big. People come and go all the time here. He might be back, and if he isn't then good, why the hell should anyone have to deal with this shitty place? He's probably better off doing whatever he does where you're from.

I guess I'm just sad that he's gone. He was the first of my friends to actually stick around in the castle for a while. But I know he's heaps happier where he is now.
