[Her voice is quiet and uncertain, as if disturbing the eerie atmosphere would come at a cost.]

[Spike squints at the page, trying his best not to feel guilty. Ordinarily he might be annoyed, seeing as Faye is one of the more capable women on the ship (assuming she's on the same one), but he can't really bring himself to ignore her. Maybe if he can gather everyone in one place...]

Where are you?

[He may or may not be able to hear a quiet sigh of relief at the sound of his voice, but she keeps it from seeping into her tone. She takes a moment to view her surroundings, her eyes focused on the Gravity Core.]

Near that room with the big... spinny circle thing.

Faye

[That's probably the core that Joshua warned him about. (Taking warnings from Joshua...) He doesn't even ask if she's on his ship; he can gather that from the way she's acting.

He hasn't even found Lucrezia or certain other people yet, the ship is so big, let alone have time to prepare for whatever is out there spreading gore around the place. When did he turn into the guy with all the responsibilities?]

Stay there, and I'll come get you.

[She hovers between being relieved by his somewhat valiant efforts and annoyed that he'd ordered her to wait there like a child. But she decides to take what she can get at this point. Gratitude wins over, and she leans against the cold metal wall to wait.]

Don't take all day.

[A thank you in disguise.]

[Yeah, well, he doesn't have time to bitch at her about it. And maybe, deep down, he can't blame her for being freaked out.

He thinks he knows how to get there anyway, so it shouldn't take him that long. Partly because he is actually on a mission right now. This doesn't feel like the fun alien invasion they got the last time, and he has personal experience with what the castle likes to pull every once in a while. (Faye knew better than anyone, before she lost her memories. He was kind of hoping she wouldn't have anything new to remind her.)

Imagine his surprise when Faye listened to his instructions and stayed right where she said. He walks up to her, a tad too tense to pull off casual, but he'll pretend all the same.]

[Faye has the patience of a five-year-old, so it's a miracle she'd been able to hold out for him to appear. Also, this ship is creepy, and staying in one place tends to increase one's chances of being eaten. But her desire to be found by Spike had outweighed her anxiousness to move.]

It's about time you showed up.

[Thank God you're here.]

[It's weird to see her so relieved to see him, but he sort of gets it. Even if Spike may not be the ideal person to comfort anyone in times like these, he's familiar.]

Sorry. [And he really needs to stop assuming the worst all the time. Like anything, they just need to ride through it.] I'm still looking for the map.

[It was almost just as weird to her. It was odd being in this scary ship and having him be the first person she can think of.]

No. [He glances past her, towards the Core, then turns back around the way he came. He's apparently not in the mood for conversation.] Come on.

[She follows without protest. But not without comment.]

Geez. Pushy much?

[She asked for him, she can't complain! And anyway, he's got too much on his mind to stay in one place.]

Someone warned me about this area. Until I figure out why, it's better to stay away from it.

What'd they say about it?

[He at least has her attention.]

To keep someone I can't find away from it.

[Somehow he's made himself responsible for them. It can't be helped, but right now it puts him in a bad position.]

In that case, wouldn't it be better to stand guard here? At least until that person you can't find shows up. Who knows where they are now, anyway.

[She can't help but talk. Somehow it's helping to calm her.]

[Maybe a little. But it's almost comforting. She falls quiet for only a few seconds before changing the subject.]

I ran into a guy in that room earlier.

[That earn a questioning glance.]

What guy?

About yay tall, dark hair, sunglasses...

[She tilts her head at him, hoping he'd know who she's describing. She hadn't gotten Crowley's name.]

[The sunglasses tip him off, yet he still stops like he's not sure he heard her right.]

Did he have anything to say about it?

After he didn't want to help me, he told me to find you.

[He stares for a second, then continues walking. Probably a bad time to think about that.]

That sounds about right.

[It's hard to say 'no' with a straight face. Even if he can't stand the sight of the guy and wishes he would get sucked out of an airlock, he maybe can conceive the possibility that Crowley had some feelings for her.]
