DWN 009 - Metal [Action/Heard over journal.]

[whistles_the_blues]

[Blues had kept himself scarce since the return to the castle, having locked himself away in his room and refusing to actually speak to anyone. It wasn't like he needed to eat or drink anything and well heck being a robot it's not like it would start to smell after awhile. However, he can only spend so long moping around before he feels the need to do something to take his mind off of it.

So he slips out of his room and decides to visit the music room today. He had been practicing with a guitar for a while now and had actually gotten pretty good at it. He doesn't notice his journal has opened up when he starts to play a little tune.

Anyone who actually walks by the music room may see that he hasn't repaired any of the damage from the he received while on the Event Horizon. He's covered in dings and scratches, there's a large dent in one of his cheeks and heck, he hasn't even replaced his cracked sunglasses.

[Mitsuru returned to the Music Room after getting some tea at the kitchen. But by the time she returned, there's Blues now in the music room. She entered the room and giving him a nod in greeting. She noticed the damages on his body and frowned at the sight.

Buuut she's been nagging someone to get themselves fixed all day today, so she's choosing not to make a comment about it right now and headed straight for the grand piano she was on earlier. She sets her tea on top of the piano and caressed the keys to get her fingers reacquainted with the ivory keyboard]

[A person... Well as much as he didn't want to run into anybody, it was something that was bound to happen once he left his room. He's slightly relieved she doesn't exactly seem to be talkative type either.

Once he finishes his song, he'll wait and listen for her to start playing.]

[Mitsuru only concentrated and started playing a song. Her eyes were closed, so she's playing a song from memory, or making it up as she goes.

The sad tune seems fitting with the current atmosphere, and since Blues kept his journal open, it could be heard all throughout the castle as well]

[Hm. Yeah it most certainly suited the atmosphere, he lets her play for a little bit before he starts to strum the guitar, adding a little melody along with her tune.]

[She noticed when Blues started playing his guitar again. She didn't mind, in fact it complimented the tune she was playing somehow. She looks at him for a brief second before concentrating on playing the piano again]

[whistles_the_blues]

[The odds of him admitting it were slim, but he was raised by a man that loved music, and that love was passed onto him. He'll casually glance away when she looks his way but will keep on playing with her for the moment.

This was something he needed.]

[York's walking by as part of his usual routine to check the floor map and pauses at the doorway; it's more unusual than one might think to actually hear someone playing instead of just using a CD.

When Blues gets to a pausing point in the song (or finishes a refrain or w/e) he'll step in.]

Sounds good. I didn't know you could play.

[Mitsuru noticed him glancing away, so she just lets him be and kept playing the tune in her head until it finished. But he seems upset, so she thought of playing a more upbeat song

Luckily she had a music notebook with her, so she pulled that out while sipping on some warm tea and browsed the pages]

[Blues hadn't exactly been paying attention when York steps in. He recognizes his voice from the time they spoke over the journal and on the Even Horizon, but this is the first time he's actually seen York thanks to the hallucinations.]

...Thanks, still new to actually using an instrument.

Heh. Most people take a while before they're any good. Practice makes perfect, though.

[He'll lean against the wall.]

Looks like you could use a little cleaning up.

[whistles_the_blues]

I intend to keep at it.

[He pauses at that and shifts his glance away. He probably could have had himself cleaned up save for his face if he wanted to. He just hadn't felt like it over the last few days, he hadn't felt like doing much to be honest.]

Figured it could wait. There's a number of injured humans to tend to first.

[Humans that he helped injured. Sure he came to senses and helped out in the end, but that didn't make anything he did beforehand any better in his mind.]

[While she's glancing through the booklet, he'll tune his guitar up. He's curious to see what she plays next.]

[Mitsuru puts some reading glasses on before she paused for a second, making sure her fingers are placed at the right keys, then played the song that's on the notebook]

Good. We could use some more music around this place. Maybe Mark'll get you a gig playing for his radio show some time.

[As for that, well, York shrugs.]

I'm not going to deny that's true. But the people who could help you are usually not the same ones with medical training. And, well, I know all too well how easy it can be to let negligence develop in a bad habit. Taking care of yourself is important - just don't put it off too long.

Not really one to preform for an audience.

[Well it makes his excuse seem a little poor when you put it that way York.]

I know my body better than anyone. It's taken worse than this before.

Fair enough. It's nice to listen to, though.

[That's because it's a bad excuse.]

Okay, well, if you were in battle pretty regularly I can see how that would be the case pretty easily. Still, it's always better to get back to top shape in downtime in case soemthing happens again when you're not ready for it.

[whistles_the_blues]

[Yeah, well... Shut up!]

...Easier said than done.

[it was easy enough for him to look top shape on the outside, it was on the inside that he couldn't fix]

[Oh, well, how can he argue with that stunning rejoinder? but York's voice softens a little anyway.]

I know. And none of us are really over the shock, yet. But hell, if you need a spare wrench or some paint or whatever the hell, you can drop by my room any time. I've got a workshop set up.

[whistles_the_blues]

I've done fine on my own so far. I can take care of myself.

[Right because running off to die is the definition of fine. Or maybe that time Wheatley ripped your arm and leg of in Hank Henshaw's body? Blues can totally take care of himself.

...A moment will pass and he realizes he's being kind of an ass to someone who's only offered to help him.]

I may come and take a look.

[That gets a bit of a smile underneath York's visor. There's being proud of self-sufficiency, he gets that, but there's also willingness to accept help from others.]

I'd like that.

Oh, and since I didn't say so before--thanks for helping me out with Noble Six. She's back to herself now, but I don't think I could have got her off the ship without help.

[There's a hint of a smile on his lips. He hasn't done that since they were on the ship, before everything went crazy. He's been to absorbed with the wrong he's done to even consider there might have been some good in there too.]

Just did what had to be done. It wouldn't do anyone any good if she, you or both of you went down with that thing.

[Whereas that's been the only thing keeping York sane. Granted, he had it a lot easier being on the Lewis and Clark, but it was still awfully stressful.]

Or any of us, really. It's only because we all worked together that we got all the survivors off.

[whistles_the_blues]

It probably would have gone much smoother if we could have done so sooner.

[He got his in straight in the end, after he laid a beat down on a number of people who didn't deserve it.]

[M has been keeping to herself, too, but she's still been going on her daily walks around the castle. it keeps her moving, if nothing else, and when she hears the music, she stops in the doorway to listen]

[It certainly wasn't the kind of song he had come down here to play. ...But at the same time he couldn't deny that he didn't mind it. Instead of using the guitar for this one, he was going to whistle along once he got a handle on the tune.]
