I need a couple people to tag along on this Dead Zone-friendly car race thing. It's gonna look dumb if it's just one guy driving it, basically, so I guess consider this an open invitation. Plus I should probably figure out how much weight it can take before it slows down.

It can take about three more people, since there's gonna be me and the driver already.

[Meanwhile, Brock can be found out by his cabin, working on a steam-powered car for this thing. He's making okay progress on the steam engine, considering he was interrupted for about a week by the appearance of his magical impossible castle daughter, and the chassis is pretty much done. Since it's Brock, it's about as muscle car-looking in appearance as possible, though the size of the steam engine makes the design look a bit off.]

[Welp, Brock is going to do the same thing. Between hovering over his injured wife for weeks and then taking care of a magic baby, he's pretty much unaware of anything that happened to anybody over the past month.]

Nah. The motor works, but I haven't used it with the car yet.

[Ha, like he has to ask twice. He meant to stop by the cabin after the earthquake anyway, he's just been... Whatever...

[Yes, that is something that Frodo would do all by himself. As it is though, that comment is kind of like slapping karma in his face...]

I'll stop by in a little while then.

[He's assuming Brock is at the cabin, because where else would he be. So that's where he shows up not long after, cigarette smoke maybe giving him away before he approaches. He'll just be surveying the state of the cabin before getting to the car. Helping with that might make up for what he hasn't lifted a finger to anyway, right?]

[The cabin is in pretty good shape. The walls are all brick now, since that seems to be sturdier anyway (the sole brick wall being the only thing that survived the earthquake when the wooden walls fell), though the inside is pretty bare. Brock had to shift priorities around recently, and redecorating has taken a back seat.

Brock himself is outside, working on this monster of a steam muscle car. Muscle steam car? Either way, he's underneath it, and wheels out once he smells a cigarette brand that isn't Molotov's.]

Yeah, that's a good point. Might be more fun to have some people come along instead, though.

[It's like they're going back in time or something. But Spike's eyes are on the car before Brock rolls out, so he wouldn't catch him looking guilty or anything. He's just the casual observer here.]
