paradisa | ☽ 011 [ New Moon ] -

[ There's a very worried tone in his voice when Remus addresses the journals this morning. Not at all frantic or panicked, but certainly concerned by the sudden disappearance of someone very important. He's sure Sirius has not gone home -- his name is still written on his door -- but he hasn't seen or heard from him since the last full moon. Usually he's content with the knowledge that his friends always turn up eventually, that he's never too far from them, but something seems very off about this particular disappearance.

Before he can address the public, however, he needs to speak to those who would know Sirius best. So he puts up a filter. ]

[ Filtered to James Potter and Hermione Granger. ]

Have either of you seen Padfoot? At all? He's gone off somewhere and I've been trying to contact him, but he seems to be ignoring me.
His name's still on his door as well.

[ He addresses the residents of Paradisa next, hoping, of course, that Sirius would listen this time and come talk to him. ]

Err ... Morning, Paradisa. I have a bit of a favour to ask, if you don't mind. There's someone important to me who has gone missing, and I need to find him. His name's Sirius Black, so if any of you have met or have spoken with him recently, please let me know. Likewise, if you've seen a rather large, black dog wandering around, I need to know about that as well.

Err, s'pose I should ...

Right, if you haven't met him before, he's quite tall and lanky, with dark hair and he likes to pretend he's really rather posh around the ladies.

If any of you have any knowledge of his whereabouts, please let me know.

[ With all of that out of the way and with hope that at least someone will have a lead, Remus puts up a second filter to talk about a different topic. ]

Err, if you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a few questions regarding your lycanthropy as opposed to mine. I'm really rather curious about what it's like in your world for werewolves. When are you free next?

No, I haven't seen him at all. You don't suppose he did something foolish like go out into the Dead Zone, do you?

I'm free now, if you're up for it. I'll be happy to answer any questions that you have. I'm curious about our differences myself.

I will attempt to locate him during my patrols of the castle and grounds. Who am I speaking to, so I can filter to you should I discover Sirius' location.

I certainly wouldn't put it past him.
[ A sigh. ] Normally, I'd just let him be. We all have a habit of running into each other eventually, but if you or James haven't seen him either...

Great. Would you like to meet somewhere to talk in person, then? I'm in the library at the moment, as per usual.

Err ... if you do find him, could you please pass on a message to him as well?

Our magical map of the castle should show us if he's in the Live Zone. Unfortunately magic doesn't extend to the Dead Zone, so if he's out there we won't know until we look.

I haven't seen hair or hide of him for awhile now. Figured the two of you were off somewhere and I wasn't exactly about to interrupt any of that now, was I?

[ Pause. ]

Figure we should strike out and see if we can find him?

[ He's asking, but he's already packing a bag, because the question was mostly for show. If even Remus is worried about where Sirius might be, then James is looking for him. ]

[ And if James hasn't seen Sirius, then it's definitely cause for concern. He and Sirius were known to get into rows every now and again, but James and Sirius? Remus had never, ever thought that Sirius would ever try to avoid James. Ever. That was just unheard of. ]

If you haven't seen him either, then I think it'll be a good idea to go out and look for him.

Please tell him that if he doesn't come to see me or James right away, I'll hunt him down and make sure he gets a taste of a new hex I've learned.

[ Already packed, which is mostly just the scroll he cooked up to communicate when he's in stag form and the bag he's got to hold it. ]

Right. Meet me down in the lobby.

[ There's a loud pop sound over the journals. ]

I hadn't thought to check the map yet, surprisingly. I'll have a quick look, just to see.

All right. Even if he's in the Dead Zone, his journal should be working. Just keep writing to him.

Affirmative. Should I locate Sirius Black on the grounds, I will deliver your message.

[ At that, Remus quickly pockets his journal, his wand and the mostly finished map of the castle he's been refining for the last few days. He does a quick sweep of his room, before disapparating down to the lobby with a loud /pop/.

Spotting James, he makes his way over quickly. ]

I've checked the map. He's definitely not in the castle.

[ A quick nod at that. If the map says he's not here then James doesn't believe for a second it might be wrong. ]

Then I suppose the question is do we look around the town first and head straight into the Dead Zone?

I think it'd be best if we checked the town first. The Dead Zone should be a last resort.

I'd hate to go all the way out there, only to find him mucking about in some bar in town or something.

[ And of course the map cannot be wrong. Remus has got it working perfectly and if it's not showing Sirius anywhere in the castle, then he's definitely not there. ]

[ If he's just mucking around bars then James is more than happy to let Remus take any swings he might want to at Sirius. Honestly, he won't even try to stop him. ]

Think we ought to split up then? I'll take one half, you take the other?
