RACE TO THE BOAT
[After that message it's time to pack up and get the heck out of dodge. Both teams have a short trek across dinosaur infested territory to get to the docks, where the cruise ship is waiting to whisk them away. There are a ange of hervibores, and whatever surviving raptors better them and it.
The remaining adult T-Rex seems mysteriously absent throughout all of this, as is Tembo. Weird]
[[No sections make your own. If you want a mod NPC'd dinosaur, please ask for one in the comments (and specify herbivore or raptor), otherwise, NPC your own. Powers are still functioning | Day four ooc post | Plot hub]]

Terry Sheridan. [A glance back.] Not that introductions really matter.

I suppose they don't, in this matter. But I would know the name of someone who offers to protect me, all the same. In my land we consider protection of one's liege to be a sacred oath.
no subject
[Woah, girl.]
Now hold on, there. I don't remember signing up to any lieges or swearing any oaths.
no subject
You've not sworn yourself to my service, no, but you've taken it upon yourself quite seriously to ensure that I made it to the boat safely.
no subject
[He shrugs slightly.]
Besides, if I'm not dead, I'm going to need friends, which means other people need to not be dead.
no subject
Do I appear miserable to you?
[ Dany doesn't wait for his answer before she smirks, and continues pushing her way through the grass; it's easier to move more freely in the ragged tatters of her gown that only cover to mid-thigh now, but the tall weeds slap and scratch at her bared skin. ]
I should be very glad then to not be de—
[ —she stops short and freezes at the sudden sound of rustling in the grass ahead of them, pivoting her head to look at him again. ]

He raises his rifle and starts moving forward, quietly, stopping, scanning the grassline with the scope.]

Terry has his weapon, but what worries her most is the recollection that these lizards are not solo hunters.
She's petite, but still she ducks down lower in the grass, regardless. ]
no subject
He needs to listen. He won't be able to see the murder lizards, so hearing them is all he has, and he doesn't need any more noise.]
no subject
The attack comes from her left.
There is an inhuman screeching—more frightening than any sound her dragons could ever make, she has a fleeting half-second to think—and then one of them leaps upon her, throwing its entire weight onto her and knocking her flat onto the grass. Dany scrabbles and kicks, pushing at it with her arms, ducking and doing anything she possibly can to avoid the claws. ]

He's aiming for the head, his expression of utmost concentration. He's not panicking, not this time. If he panics, they die.]
no subject
I did not hear that one, it was silent...there must be more of them in the grass...
[ They can't stay here. They have to run. ]
no subject
[Which is very bad. Running is a good idea.]
That way, let's move. Stick close to me, aye?
no subject
—I should—I should have a weapon, too—
[ She's just thinking out loud; she'd dropped the dagger she'd wielded earlier somewhere along the way to the communications building. There's not much she can do to protect herself, now. ]
no subject
[He's going to get you through this, Dany... Unless you walk away mid-run.]
no subject
[ She's panting hard as she runs, even as adrenaline kicks in; his strides are longer and she struggles to keep up.
And then she doesn't see what's before her and she trips up against a snarl of tangled roots, the ground rushing up to meet her. ]
no subject
He looked back at the right moment, stops and reaches out to grab the collar of the remains of Dany's dress. He can at least stop her from faceplanting.]
no subject
She's out of breath and panting, at this point. ]
We're not—we're not going to make it to the boat, are we?
[ This was not how she'd envisioned her end. ]
no subject
Go. I'll hold them off.
no subject
Are you mad? I'll not leave you behind! We stay together!
[ Not as though she could help him in any way, and perhaps she slows him down when he tries to fight them with his weapon. Briefly Dany entertains the idea, but shrugs it off again when she realizes she can't leave him. She won't allow herself to just abandon someone who has helped her so selflessly.
And that's when she hears the screeching, high in the air, still a good distance away—but she knows those sounds, hears them when she both sleeps and wakes, and would know them anywhere. Her arms break out in gooseflesh as she looks skyward. ]
no subject
[He is the voice of reason.]
Besides, I'm not in the habit of abandoning people who owe me a favour.
[A slight grin that falters slightly as he hears screeching. He looks up too.]
Please don't tell me there's bloody Pterodactyls, too...
