Zoos are so awesome. They're a place where lots of animals live and you can go visit them. Some zoos are bad because they're too small, and it's not fair to animals that are used to being free to be in small spaces, but big zoos are great because they treat the animals good.

[and soon Brittany is waiting out on the dock, rocking on her heels, and waiting for a stranger. this sounds promising...]

Come with me! It would be so awesome. We could get ice cream and visit the pandas and maybe they'll have ducks!

[At least this time the stranger is a six year old boy, Brittany, I'm sure he's safe enough. He comes trotting up shortly after, pausing a bit when he sees her before walking the rest of the way.

Calvin doesn't have the best history with teenage girls, but this one had sounded harmless enough, and besides, they wouldn't let him into the zoo on his own.]

[she frowns down at Calvin, surprised]

[A scowl.] I'm six years old. I'm growing.

Oh. Well...then that's okay. Just don't drink coffee or smoke cigarettes yet, that won't help you grow.

I tried cigarettes once, they're awful. [Yeah and you're never going to try them again, are you Calvin?]

I keep trying to get my cat to quit, but I know he sneaks them behind my back. It's a very bad habit. [she shakes her head sadly]

[Calvin nods his head seriously.] That's awful. Maybe you should try some kind of replacement therapy.

I've seen nicer. ...But it's nice.

I've only been to a beach a couple of times...

He refuses to go. Instead he acts out and rebels. It worries me a lot.

[she sighs, glad that someone understands.]

[Calvin's best friend is a tiger, of course he understands Brittany.] You should find him a role model or something. Someone who can be a good influence on him.
