[Evan's just walking near the pier, looking for what would normally be the familiar sight of Utopia off in the distance, but seeing as how this San Diego wasn't his San Diego, it's nowhere to be found. He sighs into the journal, grateful that the natives here weren't giving him strange looks.]

It's kinda funny. In my world, San Diego is the home of the "other" school for mutants like me, Graymalkin Industries, and Utopia, which is an island nation created just for mutants. Normally, you can see if from anywhere on the San Diego coast.

It doesn't exist here, even a little. Yet...people don't look at me like I've got a second head when I walk around. I did pretty well in my class on parallel universes and stuff, but...stuff like this is just beyond me. Has anything like this ever happened before? What was it like?

[Meanwhile, Evan's just gonna be skipping rocks in the ocean, and trying not to think about the fact that he had to beat on a pack of dinosaurs, and did so more viciously and powerfully than he likes to think himself capable.]

Heh, I'll admit I'd be curious too, and I had a classmate who's body was covered in eyes!

If it was, Trevor never seemed all that bothered by it. I think he could close the ones that were covered by his clothes. Like...he isn't completely covered in eyes. I think he's got...oh...I dunno...like forty or fifty? I haven't seen them all, so that's just a guess.

Did he at least have, um.. super good vision with them? Or something?

[whistles_the_blues]

[Hey Evan, you might hear a familiar tune being whistled as Blues approaches the Pier. He's heading your way.]

Oh, yeah he did! He could see like...the presence of magic, and he could tell when people were nervous, or when they were lying by watching their body language and stuff. He's a really good shot, too.

[kid_apocalypse]

[Lost in his thoughts, Evan doesn't notice Break at first, until he hears dat whistle, and turns to face where the tune is coming from.]

Break! Oh man it's good to see you. It's been kind of a weir couple of days, hasn't it?

[whistles_the_blues]

Well neither of us became dinosaur food, that's a plus.

[Yeah he's glad to see you too Evan. He's just terrible at saying it.]

Weird might be putting it a bit light, but you're right.

Heh, yeah. If it hadn't been for powers getting turned on there, I would've been a meal, I think. Pretty sure I put the fear of death into a pack of Velociraptors, heh.

[He flicks out another rock, and it bounces...and bounces...and bounces...and bounces...and bounces...and bounces, and finally sinks about 75 yards out from where it hit the water.]

Well, I don't think it's much weirder than some of the other stuff we've been through, anyway. At least this time we got dropped off somewhere mostly normal.

Funny how this place can just pick and choose when abilities work or not, well at least you're not dinner.

[He'll grab hold of a rock of his own and toss it, he can't get it quite as far as Evan can but he doesn't seem to bothered by that.]

True, I'd rather deal with giant lizards than take another trip on that spaceship.

Yup! I once saw him shoot two guns at the same time in different directions, and he bullseyed both shots!

Cool! I'm a pretty good shot with one, but I couldn't imagine doing that with two.

Heh, yeah. I'm an okay shot, but I prefer to use my powers when I can, though...with some of the stuff that's happened, I kind of want to learn how to use more weapons, in case I lose my powers or something.

Heh, yeah. If anything, all of that happening gave me a new trick!

[He closes his eyes, and his skin takes on the mottled texture of a dinosaur's skin.]

Yeah. I mean...I was on the other ship, but I heard about everything you guys went through. What a nightmare!

[whistles_the_blues]

You're going to need to keep a list of those if this keeps up.

[He shrugs, but doesn't exactly look to happy about next comment.]

I think we'd all be better off without a repeat of that.
