107.1 - get me started again

[residents may or may not be pleased to find that it appears someone has gone back to his old tried-and-true Monday Night At Ten PM routine. right on the dot, the old familiar song starts drifting out over the journals, there's the hiss of a soda can, and Hard Harry takes the air]

Hey, there, everybody, you still ain't rid of me yet. ... Let's take a short trip down memory lane, have a look at the past seven days, shall we? Looks like we got ourselves another slow week for newbies. Everybody say hi to Ohjiro and Isabelle, and my new close personal buddy, Ben. And don't tell me you're too busy to even just say hi, because I've heard the crickets out there.

Seems like now that everyone's recovered from gettin' chased by dinos - which my buddy Dairine did a nice handy report on - everybody's makin' their summer plans. I'm seeing everything from parties to obstacle courses... And of course, there was Saturday's gallery opening. There's still plenty of room on the giant chalkboard, if anyone feels like putting their mark out there! Pun only slightly intended.

Also, seeing a couple of the paintings actually reminded me of something. Couple years ago, for Christmas, I gave everyone in the castle their own radio, so they could tune in to these broadcasts the old-fashioned way instead of using their journals. We've seen so many people come and go that I figured it was time to ask if anyone else wants one.

I guess I could run my mouth, but honestly, right now it's so hot and humid and nasty out that all I wanna do is sit here with the fan on and spin some tunes. We'll start off with one for another good buddy of mine - and as always, I do take requests. Keep it cool, folks.

I never thought I'd hear my name announced again without hearing the yells of groupies immediately following.

[Which in a way, was kind of nice. That's some peace without screaming fangirls.]

[HI NEW FRIEND HI] Yeeeeeah, that's kinda how it goes around here. It'll be normal as hell for a week or so and then dinosaurs or giant polar bears or little cutesy monsters in balls show up, or we're in Paris, or some ninja town, or like ... space. I was asleep for space, though. And that was pretty much a good thing.

What room're you in? I'll send one over.

I'd say "give it time", but not a lotta people actually get groupies around here. You must be Ohjiro.

[somehow, he knows just the one. after a moment of rifling through his records, there's the soft scratch of needle on vinyl, and then this.]

I wouldn't mind a radio, but then again, I don't mind tuning into the journal, either. I try to keep up with it, anyway.

I guess we at least get a chance to regroup after all that. Take a breather, y'know? [He'll take THOSE whenever he can get them. There's a subtle pause] Space. Seriously.

No problem. So how's it goin', anyway? [the ghosts will deliver the radio momentarily]

Yeah, the downtime is definitely good. ... [he checks his list. plenty of time left, and Ben's only a floor above him. he wishes the radio up and heads for the stairs, having a feeling this will go over better than delivery by ghost. knock knock!]

I have scars from a raptor attack and a dear friend of mine is gone from the castle. I've had better days.

No mister, just Harry. Why the groupies? You a big rock star or something?

No problem. You must be Isabelle, yeah?

Sure thing, I'll have the ghosts send one over. Doin' okay this week?

I've had weeks like that. I wanted to just crawl under my bed and tell the world to fuck off. ..... Have you ever been out to Mineas Well?

Not yet, but it's on my list. Right up there with the other places on that map.

[This is a wise call, Clementine's explained the ghosts to him, but there's still a 70% chance he would try to cave a ghosts skull in with the first blunt instrument that comes to hand. That or run screaming. It's 50/50, really. Still, he opens the door carefully, peering around it only relaxing and opening it fully when he recognises who his visitor is]
