Hello, students. Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts. I am the Arithmancy professor, Hermione Granger. Will all of my OWL and NEWT students please turn in your summer homework as soon as possible? We'll be getting right to work in your next class so I want to be sure you're prepared.

I'd also like to welcome all of the new Gryffindors. As your Head of House, I want you to know you can come to me with any questions. Good luck to our team today. I know that you'll all do our House proud. [she's really not into Quidditch, but she'll still support the team]

What's Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, Muggle Studies, Alchemy and Defense Against The Dark Arts? I already had Magical History, Astrology and Charms... [Charms was said in a hiss. She nearly blew up her partner in that class.] ... and where can I get all the basics for Charms through seven years of school?

Those are all classes that are offered to students. It sounds like you're at a NEWT level, which is for sixth and seventh year students. [she's honestly a bit surprised Katniss ended up signed up for a NEWT History of Magic; hardly anyone goes on with that after their OWLs]

Seriously man, I'm sorry you had to leave. This whole wand thing is frigging sweet. Swish and flick is the easiest thing I've ever done in combat.

Okay, good, and ... ah, will you get in trouble for that? What with the whole ... Gryffindor Slytherin thing?

Yes, that's the highest level in the school. The classes are much more difficult, too. I only went through one year at NEWT level, but I can tell you it was a heavy workload.

Gryffindor and Slytherin have been rivals ever since the original founders, Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin, began it long ago. I think the whole thing is silly and only divides us, but it would be hard convincing everyone to get along. Especially if you mention Quidditch. This school gets very serious about it. I've known students to be jinxed in any number of ways to prevent them from playing.

Huh ... all right, what about like, rocks? Can I practice on rocks? Or trees? Or pumpkins? There seems to be a lot of frigging pumpkins out in the garden.

Hagrid's probably growing them for Halloween. [speaking of which, where is Hagrid? She went down to his hut and didn't see him...] I suppose rocks would be all right.

There aren't usually dragons at Hogwarts. Still, Paradisa goes by its own rules. If you do come across a dragon, don't fight it. Spells dont work against their strong hide.
