[there are elements about this that remind August of the Enchanted Forest: the stolen voices, the hearts being removed. But he's sure that Regina hasn't shown up. She would've called for Henry and taken him away from the Starks by now. Still, the fairy tale aspects are too strong for him to ignore. After going over all the ones he knows (which did take a while), August went to the castle's library.

There are so many books here he wouldn't know where to begin. Luckily as he's walking along a book falls off from its shelf. He picks it up, idly flipping through it. The more he reads the more he is amazed by what he finds. But how to get other people to know?

First he taps his knife on the table to get people's attention. Once he does, he writes out a note in the journal]

[ At least during the day. Duke is pretty sure death number two had happened around when he ought to have been eating dinner, so that's probably the time to worry about. ]

[Meg's face lights up like a fucking Christmas tree. She knew she could count on him to find something like this. They were getting close, but all the references she and Tucker had found to anything like the gentlemen were just so vague. She knew if August had even bothered to say anything, he had something big.]

[After August starts reading, Spot peers down from the book shelf, quite pleased with himself. He had been staring at that book for some time now, hoping someone would pick it up. When one seemed to get the hint, he had decided a more direct method was necessary and pushed it down.

Spot is doubly pleased when August's demeanor changes and he goes to write in the journal. Looks like his hunch was right after all.

With a light popping sound, Spot suddenly appears on the table. The laptop regards August with a calm but urgent manner, despite not having any eyes.]

[well that was unexpected. He's not sure how exactly to respond to that. He can't speak and he's not sure that a computer would be able to read. So he just decides to type in his answer on the laptop itself]

Have a plan for spreading information to others though mediums other than journal? Aside from notes?

In the old days, they sometimes used pigeons to deliver messages. There are also smoke or drum signals, but I'm not sure how many people are familiar with those codes.

[oh well that's handy. August also gets out his sketches. He didn't draw the Gentlemen as they really look since he hasn't seen them, but people will get the idea. He holds the sketches and the open book up to the laptop and types again]
