[Everything has a price and Cloud is beginning to pay for some of his requests. There is a faint growl that gets louder - almost as if the creature's irritation is growing by the second. If one can understand wolf, Cloud is saying something along the lines of:

I can't even communicate. Just great.

Are you happy, castle? Are you?

Damn you.

A door is opened forcefully and the large grey wolf exits his room and prowls the halls. Feel free to run into him! He is a lovely creature. Just don't piss him off or he'll hand your ass to you.

Or eat your ass. Some of these wolf instincts are disturbing.]

[ There's an ornate but carelessly dressed lady trawling the hallway with an opium pipe in one hand. Sorry for the smell there, Cloud. She smiles at the sight of him, clasping her hands together and chuckling. ]

Aw, how adorable.

[The wolf comes to a halt, his nose wrinkling at the scent. But there's still enough of Cloud inside of him for him not to attack outright. Instead, he forces himself to sit down and tilt his head quizzically.

Really? Adorable? What does she call a lion or a tiger? Precious?]

[Tess is wary of wild animals, but most particularly dogs.

Twenty years since society started crumbling and dogs have gone from household pets to semi-feral or even outright feral packs of carnivores. The military shoots them on sight, and while Tess may disagree with them on a lot of things, she does make it a policy to shoot dogs. They're a danger.

This husky-looking dog looks a lot like the mutts that roam the outskirts of Boston, though perhaps bigger and shaggier. Tess watches it from down the hall, warily, torn between just leaving it (at someone else's risk) or else neutralizing it. Then, finally, she reaches to her back hip for her gun.

She isn't taking chances.]

[ Yuuko doesn't speak wolf but there are many other ways to understand. She crouches to be closer to his eye level. ]

Tigers are cool. Lions are fuzzy, aren't they?

[animusangelus]

[His eyes widen and he tenses. So she...can understand? His ears flick back and forth before he regains his composure.

...whatever. I'm not usually like this.]

[animusangelus]

[Sensing danger on a whole new level - this must be animal instinct - Cloud moves slowly, fixing his eyes on Tess. He then shakes his head slowly and deliberately. She isn't in danger - there's no reason to attack. He hopes she gets the message, but just in case she misses it, he lays down in the middle of the hall, resting on his belly.

Really. He's not a threat. He'll act like a puppy if that keeps him from getting hurt.

...oh what the hell. He lolls his tongue out in a goofy fashion, tail wagging.

There. Happy puppy. No threat.]

[ She tries a smile, reaching a hand as if to cup the wolf's head but hardly close enough to even touch him. ]

Are you usually more adorable?

[animusangelus]

[Blinking slowly and trying to let those words process, Cloud tilts his furry head this way and that, his brow furrowed.

I'm not adorable.

Wow. Now he sounds petulant.

My name's Cloud.]

[When the animal turns to her, Tess lifts the gun and flips off the safety, priming the gun so there's a round in the chamber. She doesn't fuck around with animals, doesn't take her chances –– she'll risk her life with a lot of things, even on a lark, but animals make her nervous.

But then, to her surprise, the beast is backing down. Playing, at that, with the goofy puppy antics.

Tess breathes an actual sigh of relief, lowering the gun.]

Christ, who the fuck lets a scary-looking shit like you out alone?

[Chie was planning to take her pets out for a walk. She just got a new pet from Ino. Walking down the halls to the elevator, she almost ran over a big wolf when she was about to take a turn to a different hallway. She yelped and took a step back]

Whoa! What the- A wolf?

[Her puppy and bouncing piglet didn't seem startled at all, unlike their master who has her hand on her chest while panting]

Sheesh, dude. I thought I was going to have a heart attack...

[papillo]

[ Yuuko smiles wider before moving to stand back up, mischief in her eyes. ]

Cloud. Yuuko.

Let us take a walk.

[animusangelus]

[When did he agree to go on a walk? Cloud makes a huffing sound.

What if I want to stay in the hall? Or go back to my room?]

[animusangelus]

[At least he won't be shot. Even if he does feel ridiculous. He sighs in frustration, the sound coming out as a whine.

Oh wait! He has an idea!

Carefully, he walks back inside his room and picks up his journal. He carries it out to her and lays it at her feet.

There's a name on that, right? Yes. Cloud Strife. That's him!]

[Cloud tenses when he sees Chie, but the puppy and the piglet set him at ease. So she's an animal lover? Maybe? Hopefully?

Tilting his head, he makes a soft whining sound. Is he going to have to lick her hand?

This is going to be awkward when he changes back. Stepping forward, he instead nuzzles the puppy and the piglet.

Hey, they're cute. Don't judge him.]

[papillo]

[ Yuuko smiles and turns away to start walking away anyway. ]

You can do whatever you wish. The choice is yours.

Heh...

[Calming down afterwards, Chie observes the wolf whine and nuzzle with her pets, who both respond in kind. The sight of it made her smile. Chie crouched down to pet the wolf's head cautiously]

[Well now he's curious. Snorting, he walks up to her and flutters his silver ears.

Fine. Where to?]

[animusangelus]

[Hey that petting feels nice. Cloud smiles a little - which looks ridiculous on his new wolf face. He isn't even aware his tail is wagging.]

[dog_eat_dog]

[Tess watches in mild confusion, keeping her posture defensive and hesitant to put away her gun. She follows it a few hesitant steps and then watches the dog come back with the journal, which she picks up with trepidation.]

Cloud Strife? [Someone had mentioned her that people get turned into animals sometimes.] Is that you?

Aren't you adorable! [Chie giggled, continuing to pet the wolf with a smile on her face]

I don't know if you could understand me, but do you want to go on a walk with us?

[papillo]

Wherever you like. Where do wolves like to play?

[animusangelus]

[Outside, of course! He points his nose towards one of the windows.]

[Oh no. He's adorable. Cloud whines (against his better judgement) and nods his oh so furry head.

Yes, a walk sounds nice.

He tilts his head and woofs at the puppy and piglet. Do they like walks too?]

[animusangelus]

[When she says his name, he perks up and nods, tail wagging. Yes! Finally! Victory! It's nice to be acknowledged - and, no, as Cloud Strife, he has no desire to bite her or anyone else.]

[papillo]

I had to ask. You aren't entirely wolf, are you?

[animusangelus]

[He shakes his head, his surprising blue eyes fixed on Yuuko.

I'm human. This is a curse...I think?]

[papillo]

Ah. [ She starts walking in a clipped pace, expecting a wolf to find it easy to keep up. ]

What did you wish for?

[dog_eat_dog]

[Tess slowly kneels down to one knee, her other foot flat on the floor in case she needs to get up again fast, though it's largely more so she can get a better look at him than any politeness.]

Huh. Shit deal, buddy.
