Twenty-Seventh Gate

I plan on re-opening the Paradisa Town Clinic some time next week, as it looks like my arm is finally well enough for me to work again.

For new arrivals, hello and welcome to Paradisa. I'm Dr. Keller, and I run a small medical clinic in town. [She draws a simple map to its location.] I'm always on the lookout for more help, so if any of you have any sort of medical experience- or are willing to learn the basics- I'd be more than happy to teach you.

Do you have any experience with [aliens] people with poor immune systems?

Not a whole lot, unfortunately- but I also have experience treating a wide variety of people and... uncommon maladies, too, so I may be able to help. Is there anything specific you need?

Just looking out for a friend of mine that just arrived. It's nice to know that there are places in the town that can offer aid if something were to happen to her.

I hope you have a good supply of antibiotics and antihistamines?

There's a clinic in the castle itself, too- but I know not everyone's comfortable going there for whatever reason, especially if they choose not to live in the castle.

I'll do what I can to help your friend if she ever needs it.

Absolutely. Anything we can wish up in the castle, I try to keep in stock.

In that case, expect a visit in the near future. I'd like to be prepared if anything were to puncture my suit.

Your suit? If you don't mind me asking.

I'm a quarian. It's necessary we live in a sterile inviroment to prevent infection. If my suit was breeched-- Well, let's just say it's not pretty.

[Ahh, she's an alien. Not one Jennifer recognizes, but that's nothing new to her. Jennifer wishes briefly to herself that Rodney was still here; she knows he'd probably be able fix her suit.]

I see. Well, I do hope that doesn't happen- though given the variety of people we have here, I'm sure we'd be able to help.

Would you consider yourself a Healer?

I would, yes. I don't have any sort of magic or healing gifts, though- just my skill and my knowledge.

Fixing the suit isn't so bad, I can do that on my own. It's more I'd rather not suffer a fever or worse.

Yeah, that's understandable- when you're not used to it, that makes it that much harder to shake off.

My people have adapted and I've worked through it before, but I can't think of a single race that actually enjoy it.

Me either- but then again, I haven't met many different ones. Still, it's one of the reasons I wanted to become a doctor- to alleviate suffering.

It's nice to know there are people like you here. I should probably introduce myself if I'm going to be visiting your clinic regularly-- Tali'Zorah vas Normandy. Or Tali, really.

Thank you, Tali. I'm glad I can be of use here; there are several other doctors, both those with healing gifts and those who work with their hands. Seems like no matter where you end up, people don't stop getting sick and hurt.
