[Elena is sitting on the roof today, appreciating the view and the quiet. She's come to understand that she isn't going back to the Barge or to Mystic Falls any time soon. Whether this was a port where she and Cassel were left behind or if this place simply took the two of them, she couldn't really say. It's a beautiful place, if nothing else.]

[Once she's had enough, she jumps off and lands softly without injuring herself. (Hooray vampirism.) She takes to walking the castle grounds instead, wandering without any particular direction or in any particular rush.]

[Eventually, she opens the journal as she walks. Might as well give it a try.]

So, the place I came from there were vampires, werewolves, humans, dragons, half-angels, and aliens. I'm probably leaving a few things off that list, honestly.

I guess I'm just curious about what the mix is like here. And if everyone usually gets along. I know sometimes when you get more than one species, things can get a little out of hand sometimes.

Near as I can figure, most in this place're too busy dealin' with the shite the castle throws at 'em ta give what species their neighbors are much thought.

[Elena is only have a mild difficulty believing this. She didn't believe in vampires, werewolves, or witches up until a couple of years ago, but now she's one of those and has been friends with the other two. So, this is something she can accept. She's just going to need a skinny minute.]

[She hesitates and thinks about that. She was always told he's imaginary when she was a little kid and would get scared of the dark. But he is talking to her. Imaginary things don't usually talk to you unless you're on some severe hallucination.]

Only a wee bit. I jus' got here a li'l over a week ago, had a bit of time ta get acquainted with the weirdness. Like...there's weird, an' then there's Paradisa, in sort of a class o' its own.

[So far, he's been relatively pleasant towards her. So, she won't judge him too harshly for being what he is. Elena's well-aware of just how damn hypocritical that'd be of her.]
