[There's a troll in the dungeon! parlor. For now she's just sitting sideways in a chair with her legs dangling over the arm, flipping through the journal and watching anyone who happens to be in there. A thought comes to mind, and immediately she begins to dictate.]

I've been thinking. How come we don't get to grow up here? You know, like get taller and stuff. It just seems weird beclaws in our minds we get older but we don't look any different.

Even if some of us don't get to grow up back home, Purradisa should be different. I guess it's not so bad that I'm still sort of small and it helps for hunting and tracking, but I am seven--almost eight sweeps old! You wouldn't look at a six sweep old troll and think they look the same as an eight sweep old troll.

What's that fur humans again...? It's like a human that is 13 years and a human that is sixteen. Or is it seventeen? The point is there is a difference. I don't know, it's weird!

Of course not! I don't want to keep being passed off as "one of those kids" in the castle. Not that being their version of sixteen or seventeen is any better, but hey, if I'm going to be stuck here for multiple sweeps, I'd at least want to know what it's like to grow up as an adult troll.

I remember her, and she seemed really cool! I bet you'll be just like her. I wish I knew who my ancestor was.

I think I'd make a really fearsome adult troll. I'd be muscular, but not the gross kind of muscular. The really fit and toned kind. And I'd be even more agile than I am now, able to take down even the biggest of beasts in the wild! I think I'd even let my hair grow out so it looked like a wild furbeast mane.

How many months are in a sweep?

Anyway, a sweep is twenty-six months long.

I think it's closer to sixteen but yes. I only look younger beclaws I was about thirteen human years when I first arrived here.

I hope so! It would be really neat to see what it's like! And it would change things up from always turning into a kitty and a spider, not that I will ever get tired of that.

If you do the math, eight sweeps is two hundred and eight months, which is a bit over seventeen years. If you're nearly eight sweeps, then you're definitely older than sixteen.

Unless months work differently where you come from. That's certainly a possibility.
