[At midnight, a little girl wakes up and yawns. For reasons she doesn't quite understand, she needs to draw. Right now.

She slips from her bed and pads softly to her crayons, opening the journal and beginning to make spiral after spiral, changing colors as she goes.]



[The spirals continue to fill the pages, end to end, and Jenny calmly hums in the background, even as her crayons bear down harder and harder, until they start to crumble against the paper and leave smudges behind.]

[... For some reason, this makes Pitch kind of uncomfortable.]

Stop that.

[toyboat]

[Jenny's humming just continues, and the spirals cover Pitch's transcribed words, the colors looping around and around until "Stop that" isn't visible at all.]

[teenagebadboy]

What's your problem? [Aaron snaps. However it lacks some of his usual sharpness. The spirals is making him uncomfortable but not angry. But lashing out is a part of his coping mechanism.]

[fearbringer]

Stop.

[He sounds even more uncomfortable this time.]

[toyboat]

[Jenny pays little attention to the voice -- she keeps coloring anyway. She answers, though, her voice a bit dreamy and far off.]

But they're so pretty...

[toyboat]

[She doesn't notice that he's snapping at her. Ordinarily, Jenny would be hurt and offended, but now, now she just keeps dragging her crayon around in circles, her voice sounding dazed.]

No problem.

[fearbringer]

No they're not, they're...

[... Creepy. And he still isn't sure why he cares. Shouldn't he be glad that such a creepy thing is being broadcast all over the journals for everyone to see? But he isn't; he just wants it gone.]

[toyboat]

[A large, pink spiral loops over the page, followed by one in black.]

But just look at them. They draw you in, right into the center, like magic. It's so pretty.

[fearbringer]

[Pitch wishes up a pen and starts scribbling over those horrible, unsettling spirals.]

[toyboat]

[Jenny's fury is immediate and white hot. She starts tearing the pages of scribbled-on spirals from the book, so that she can start over.

Her voice is a scream, angry and crazed.]

Stop! Stop it, you're ruining them, you're ruining everything!

[fearbringer]

Good, they're terrible!

[toyboat]

No, they're wonderful, the most beautiful things in the world!

[Angry tears splatter on the page, and she tries again to draw spirals, only to fail as she pushes her crayon right through the paper.]

[fearbringer]

Then draw them on your own! Just keep them out of the journal!

[But as soon as he says it, he regrets it. She shouldn't draw them on her own, either-- the idea of them being drawn anywhere is creepy. Him not having to see them is only a very small comfort.]

[toyboat]

Everyone should see them!

[It's a scream, visceral and rough, and suddenly there's a messy, wet spiral in the journal, black ink that Jenny's smearing on directly with her hand.]

There's obviously something wrong. No normal people draws stuff like that.

[toyboat]

They're beautiful, there's nothing wrong at all.

[fearbringer]

No!

[He's yelling right back, half of him completely aware of how ridiculous this whole thing is... and the other half of him not caring in the least. Those spirals are a menace and they should be eradicated.

He slams his journal shut, breathing heavily. He'll give himself a minute or two to compose himself before trying to look again.]

No they're not. They're disturbing.

[toyboat]

[Jenny keeps going, fills page after page with her spirals, eventually veering off the page to make even bigger spirals on the floor of her room, on the walls, on her bedding, on her arms and legs. She wants them everywhere. Everywhere...]

[toyboat]

You just aren't looking at them properly. Look at them!

[More start coming through, the lines thick and heavy.]

[fearbringer]

[About ten minutes later, Pitch warily turns back to his journal, opening it just enough to peek in.

There there are again oh god nooooo. He shuts it again immediately, and for good this time.]

[teenagebadboy]

[As the lines grows thicker Aaron becomes even more uncomfortable.] I'm not going to look at those. They're stupid and weird.

[Silva stares at the spirals for a minute ... seemingly quite captivated by them.]

So pretty ...

That's really nice. It reminds me of those...what were they called...? Oh...Spirographs!

[toyboat]

Stop lying!

[Jenny's voice is suddenly harsh and angry, her spirals growing faster and faster, their coils getting closer together.]
