[Eleven is bored. You don't want Eleven to get bored, people. When he gets bored he gets fidgety. When he gets fidgety he tends to... fidget. Those fidgets translate to IMPROVEMENTS!

Today was spent in the kitchen. Throughout the day he'd taken apart one of the walls and found something curious. Even more curious was that the kitchen was lacking one tap above the sink. Why, you ask? It already had hot and cold running water, what other tap does the kitchen really need? Isn't it obvious?

Lemonade.

Yes. Eleven has installed a lemonade tap in the kitchen. He's now sitting with his feet propped up on the kitchen table sipping a nice cool glass of lemonade from said faucet. There's a plate of jammy dodgers within reach and he has a notebook into which he's jotting down ideas for more improvements he can make upon Cair Paradisa. The journal is open nearby and he dictates idly]

So! Now that spring has officially sprung and it's nice and sunny and spring-y outside I'm thinking of trying to build something. I haven't a clue what, yet. Or, rather, I haven't a clue what it does... but it'll be something, a big... something... and that's something, isn't it?

[Pause... then the sounds of paper tearing and rustling as he crumples up his latest design and chucks it over his shoulder]

No. Strike that. That's rubbish. That was a big rubbish something and I'll have nothing to do with it.

[And with that he goes back to muttering to himself and writing furiously in his notebook. Clearly he needs to be bothered]

[she pulls it open with magic, ducks her head in, and emerges with an apple between her teeth.]

[River was surprised to find him in the kitchen, but it does take her a few moments to notice the new faucet]

Alright, what did you do this time?

A lemonade tap?!!! Awwwesooome!

[Yeah, he's just going to put his head under it and turn it on. Time to gorge!]

[He watches her trot across the floor with a smile]

Oh but what's the fun in that? There's nothing like throwing a lot of things together and finding out what it does.

[Another discarded idea goes over his shoulder]

Hmm? In progress, yes, right. Still working on that.

[He grins] What? Isn't it obvious?

[she takes a seat on the floor next to him before taking a bite out of that apple.]

Going for the serendipitous route, are we?

[He laughs]

Now that's the spirit!

Stupendously serendipitous, even. [Smmmmmmmirk. He picks up a jammy dodger and take a bite]

[River grabs a glass and blinks when lemonade comes out. How did he? That man, she swore if only he could put that keen mind to better use, they'd all be home safe and sound again]

[But have a kiss on the cheek as she settles in beside him and sips from her glass]

Mm, it's good.

[It takes him a while of drinking before he stops the tap to peer at The Doctor]

Did you put this here? Because I gotta say, it's a real improvement.

[she finishes the apple in another two bites. Eatin' like a horse]

[And bothered he shall be! Dairine's already tackled the other Doctor. Now it's Eleven's turn.

The young red-head (no, not the usual one) is peering over his shoulder. So when he tosses the crumpled-up paper, she catches it.]

A whole lot of nothing or just a little bit?

Aren't you supposed to be on a camping trip with Cricket Boy?

Hmm? No, not all day. [He gestures to the newly installed tap]

That took a great deal of it.

[If only the castle was that nice. He smiles, pushing his plate of biscuits her way]

You love my bizarre talents. Which, by the way, aren't bizarre at all thankyouverymuch.

[Ray wanders in, his head stuck in his old castle journal. he wanders up to the cupboard, grabs a mug and a packet of instant soup mix, and somehow, juggling the book and the packet, manages to get the mix into the mug without either dropping the book or making a mess.

he's having a RECORD day of it so far, with that sort of thing.

until, still without looking up, he puts the mug under the lemonade tap and fills it up, catching Eleven in his peripheral vision as he does so]

Hey, Doc.

[glancing at it and pausing]

Lemonade? Was that truly necessary?

I did, yes. I've always said the kitchen needed a lemonade tap. Well... not actually said. More thought it, really.

Well... maybe not always...

Back for a day and already causing trouble, huh?

[Huh. That's odd. The paper didn't hit the floor. He looks around before realizing the voice is coming from right behind him. He cranes his neck around to grin at Dairine.]

A whole lot, I'd imagine.

[hullo_sweetie]

Whatever you say, sweetie.

[Marriage was all about picking your battles. When he offers, she takes a biscuit and bites into it]

You think outside the box, that's for sure.

It wasn't a camping trip, Amy. It was an expedition!

And we were. We got back just in time to help clean up the snow... or in my case, plant the grass.

[He wasn't paying attention to what Ray was doing so he didn't see Ray take the soup mix. He looks up to see Ray filling a mug with lemonade. Oh good, people are making use of his addition to the kitchen. He smiles]

Raymond! Hullo! And what are you up to, today?

[hulloeverything]

Trouble? Who's causing trouble? [He laughs]

Of course! The box is boring, dull, unimaginative. Who'd want to think inside of a box, anyway? ... unless you're talking about the TARDIS, of course.
