[She's staring at the two journals. Comparing the one to the other and not really understanding what the big deal is. The Watcher Diaries are supposed to be important and the word "Legacy" gets tossed around a lot with them. She just never got it. If something was important to a Slayer, they'd get told about it. Stick this piece of wood here. Done. This whole learn about your prey thing, well, it turns out all that does is make Faith sympathize with a few of them. Oh, and she also slept with... is sleeping with one of them. Yeah, learning about her prey wasn't exactly working out for her.]

Yeah... I totally missed something. [Someone wasn't paying much attention when all of a sudden there were two journals on the bar where she, sort of, just leaves it lying around.]

Is it a big deal that I've got two of these journal things now? 'Cuz, I'm not really into the research gig and I already did all the reading I felt like doing. [Spoiler Alert: She skimmed until she saw her name most of the time.]

So, does this mean that the new people that show up just get a new book? I mean, I can't see this place being super nice about sharing the shit it's been doing all these years. Kinda seems like it's sweepin' it all under the rug.

Not that anyone here seems to really care when things happen. [She judges all of you.] Few weeks go by and you just bitch about something else.

I suppose it's not really that big a deal for many people. The newer one seems to now be magically tethered to our person, while the old one will no longer record or follow you around.

I would presume that new arrivals will receive a blank journal, yes.

I see no real need to keep the old books, anyway. They are just records of those who complained before we did.

I don't know. Perhaps it's like a computer and needs to be defragmented occasionally.

No, I meant that like any system, it can get disorganised, jumbled. It may have done this to restore internal order and streamline itself. After all, it's carrying out losses, running our journals, altering reality, fulfilling the constant stream of wishes people ask for.

That takes energy. Resources.
