[his voice is a little somber as he addresses the journal, but it's still far from the dour tone he usually has. He sounds simply thoughtful.]

You know what really surprises me? There are all these people here from all kinds of different worlds, so many talents, a whole big music room right at our disposal... and there aren't more bands here.

Especially in a place like this, where it can get kind of depressing sometimes, music can really brighten people's moods, you know? I learned a long time ago that even on something like a warship in the middle of the cold ocean, people getting together to play music can make it seem a little more like you're back home. Just for a little bit.

[and so, he settles down where he's at in the music room with his tsungi horn, and begins to play. It isn't exactly a cheery tune, but it is music, and it is Zuko playing it. ...There is definitely something still wrong with him.]

[she can't decide if she should be worried or if she should be making fun of him. On one hand, this loss has been going on for a really long time. If this was permanent, it would be more than a little weird. And none of the other lobster bite victims had gained sudden and rather dramatic shifts in personality.

............On the other, this would be hilarious material if he ever goes back to normal.

Well, the obvious answer would be to hedge her bets. So she goes down to the music room with her hand-dandy camera phone. She's totally going to video tape this. While checking up on him. Yup.]

Listening to music actually helps you concentrate. Maybe you should try to enjoy it instead of getting angry.

[OH GOOD, finally some pity. That pacifies her a little, but her tone's just as angry.]

Yeah, my fucking teammate no less. Guy's definitely lost a few screw or something. You got any music for that, Sinatra?

My name's Zuko. [--not Sinatra. And yep, taking her request totally seriously] Would you like something more upbeat?

[A slight pause. This guy's getting friendly. She replies in what she imagines is a mysterious, haughty tone.] Agent South Dakota.

You know any heavy metal?

[a pause in which he's blinking, on the other side of the journal]

[she attempts a smile back, but it's more a grimace.]

So are you going to form a band?

You know, guitars and drums and shit. [Just her luck.]

[She sighs loudly in exasperation then falls silent for a moment, before at least trying to find some good in the situation.]

You know what? Find some of those drums, grab a couple drumsticks, and smack the shit out of them. REALLY beat them up. Helps if you scream, too. [Intro to Heavy Metal 101 with Professor South, class now in session.]
