[ You know how when you wake up, sometimes right off the bat you don't feel like you? or the shape is off?

Duke's having that feeling. He can't tell where his blankets went, but he feels heavier than normal so they have to be about somewhere. The journal picks up the sound of scales, though, as his Altaria blinks and moves out of the way.

Only. Uh.

This is a bit.. weird.

He's pretty sure that it's not quite possible for his neck and arm to be out of the door way, while the rest of him is.. most definitely not. ]

..... smells of smoke. [ Does that sound vaguely more snake-like than usual? and like there's a whole lot more rib cage to rumble about in? ]

Anything aligned with fire, would assume. [ Duke's still deaf to vocal tones. Scales and horns scrape against castle wall, oh, there's the ceiling. Yes, he did just find that with his snout. ]

Not a monster I am familiar with, although would argue that humanity is a greater monster than any creature born with scales, fur, or feathers. [ Still making use of his tongue to figure out what's up. ]
