[Steph's sitting outside the castle, over in the grass, not too far off the path to the city. With her is a pretty big dog.]

See, you and I haven't exactly been friends, but it looks like you've got to get used to me. No Bruce, no Terry... no Damian. [Which is the thing she's trying to NOT focus on.] So, consider this a truce: I'll take you on walks, play fetch with you, do other healthy dog activities with you, but you've got to promise not to use me or my stuff as chew toys.

And no sleeping on my bed. You take up the whole thing.

Okay?

[Silence. Because dogs don't talk. Not Ace, anyway.]

You're lucky Terry was cool.

I arrived here yesterday. I do not know how I got here.

What is this place, Stephanie, and where did Bruce go?

[She wasn't planning on giving Paradisa 101 today, but a distraction's a distraction!]

Don't worry, no one else knows how they got here, either.

This place is called Paradisa. Long story short, people from all sorts of different worlds and times find themselves stuck here. Somewhere in between home and here, we end up losing something. A sense, memory, skill... it can seriously be anything, so if you don't feel like something's missing right away, don't worry about it. There's some crazy magic at work here, and no one knows who or what's behind it.

As for Bruce... he was here a while ago. People come and go pretty much randomly, so he's probably back home. Tim's here, though.

You're saying this place has a mind of it's own? I would not like to be here long if that is the case.

How long have you been here if you know so much about it?

I see... Is Tim doing well? I have yet to see him or anyone else from our world. Is anyone else here? Is... Dick here?

I could probably design another computer game. I'd rather do something that I could hit with my fists though.

Alittleovertwoyears but most people don't last that long, I swear. It's entirely random. [She hopes, anyway.]

Tim's doing okay. Dick just left, actually. He and Damian.

Gym? We could go to the gym together. Punching things sounds pretty good, actually.

[ a gasp. ] Two years and it still has yet to release you? Have you tired escaping?

I see... Do they come back at all?

I'll catch you there in fifteen.

See you in a bit. [Gets into some work out clothes.]

[She laughs because that question is adorable. Stephanie wishes it were just a matter of trying.]

People are constantly trying to find a way out, going on trips into parts of the world, but... there's a lot of ground to cover.

People can come back. No telling when, unfortunately.

When I arrived I saw this castle and a vast landscape. I flew around a bit but nothing of it looked familiar, but, you said it was another world so that would make sense.

I see. I suppose it would be selfish wish for them to return.

[Steph shows up right on time. She could have gone earlier to punch things, but she didn't really want to be that cliche and go on her own. It's not as sad if there are two people punching out their frustrations.]
