So for those of you who have been around longer than me -- the kid thing. The magic kids that hang out for a week and then disappear, I mean.

[a pause, because that is both weird and sad. bluh. magic castle.]

What happens to them if your ... partner ... has gone home since then? Does the same kid show up? Or do you, er ... get a "new" one?

My little girl's come back twice after her mom left, so.

Huh. I wouldn't have expected that.

There's probably some that don't, but--I hope I get to see her again.

How many years have you seen her?

Three, going on four this month.

It must be tough on you. Well, assuming you like kids, anyway.

Frankly? I'm just glad I get to see her at all.

[It's not like he can have kids back home, after all.]

How is it for them? Do they know it's been that long since they've seen their, err ... well, their parents. [poor kids :'( ]

I think it's different for everyone.

Wonder why the castle likes to play favorites.

That's a good question! We should protest against this injustice.

Ha ha. You mean go on strike?

Yeah! We can make signs... go the whole nine yards.

I think they still show up.

Hard to say. She was only about four last year. [Not the most logical age.]

Might be worth asking this year, though.

They usually age in a realistic rate? [as opposed to in paradisa where nobody ages at all.]

That's pretty horrible.

But I guess at least it means new kids aren't being brought here. Except for the new residents ...

If only we knew where those kids went. They always come back happy and healthy... older, I hear, too.

Wouldn't know. Never had a kid pop up for me during it.

Never? I thought it happened to everybody.

Don't think the kids get their own. That would heighten the creep factor.

That'd sort of be like a Russian doll situation, right? They just get smaller and smaller ...

[Okay, that's a little dark even for him.]

I wonder why it has some people sit out for stuff like this.

Not fit to be parents? I imagine it's like a random lottery. Only the prize is screaming and crying for the next week or so.
