Stuff and an Invitation (So isn't good with titles)

Right, so, I'm getting antsy. I'm still stuck without a weapon of more technological advantage than a kitchen knife duct-taped to a pole. Given the rate that things go squirrely around here? I'd like something a little better, if someone is willing to do a trade or something.

Also up to doing some exploring if anyone wants to. Done a bit of wandering, but more would be cool. Probably.

Oh, and I can't figure out the whole...filters...whatever: I was talking to Beckett and he had the idea of doing a card game for those of us from the SGC. Sounds like fun. I'll bring the beer. Who's in?
zeke_developer: I'd prefer the real thing (electronic cigarette)

SGC? Are you from Sam's world?

I could..uhh...probably help you out with a weapon, though. That's one of the things I did back home. Build and develop weapons, I mean. Did you have anything specific in ind?

... I wonder if there's a gun shop in town.

You came without a weapon, huh? That seems kinda harsh.

[A pause.]

As for exploring, I wouldn't mind wandering around a bit more, if you don't mind.

[ A laugh, yes he is imagining Jack brandishing a knife duck taped to a pole. It's pretty amusing. ]

Jack, do we need to write down simple instructions on the filtering system and stick them to your wall?

As long as it doesn't devolve into a poker game that ends in me losing my pants; sure.

Since I suggested it, general, I'm game.

I hope you're better than Dr. McKay. Even Ronon beats him, and he's not awfully fond of the game.

Hey, Jack! ... Um. I don't really do anything with weapons, but I could stand to explore. It's been a while, how're you doing?

Heh, sounds kinda like my boss back home. His codename was literally Big Boss! [He chuckles.]

A Colt 1911? That's easy enough. My boss had a custom model he liked to use in the field, so I can get that put together quick enough. As for that other thing...is it some kind of assault rifle? It's probably a little ahead of my time. Can you describe it for me? I can probably build you something comparable, as long as I know what you're looking for in a weapon.

Clint Barton. It's a pleasure.

Ooh, like a discount for people who are good with guns?

Uh huh. [Not believing you, Jack. Which means you might be right or something... I dunno.]

I'm sure you'll be fine, General.

The AUG is basically the predecessor to the P90 XD

[personal profile] zeke_developer 2012-05-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
I've got just the thing in mind, actually. I'll build you an AUG. It's got a 30-round magazine, bullpup barrel, variable trigger for semi- or full-auto fire, and uses the same ammunition as an M16, but is a lot more accurate. The frame and stock are plastic, so it's pretty lightweight, but stable.

Did you want the custom model? It's got a lot of improvements over the basic M1911 handgun, while retaining the same reliability. It's not too much more to build, so it's no trouble on my end.

Oh, I suppose I should give you my name, since I'll be building weapons for you. My name's Dr. Harold Emmerich, but you can just call me Huey.

It's always worth hoping, at least.
