Chapter Ten- Suddenly a Baby

[thetrudger]

[Geoff turns over in his bed, cuddling against the person next to him. …The person next to him?! His eyes snap open to find his arm draped around Bucky.

Oh. This wasn’t so bad. But how did they end up like this?

That question is immediately replaced with another burning question as soon as Chaucer hears a shrill cry. He nudges Bucky.]

Bucky. Bucky, wake up. When were you going to tell me you had a child?

[ooc: Yep. Open over the journals.]

[Bucky blinks awake, still half asleep. He can sleep through kids crying.] ...I don't. That I was aware of. And why are you in my bed, again? [He's still fully clothed, thank god.]

[There's some undignified sniggering over the journals, Geoff.]

I don't know! I think it's the castle's doing.

[And thank god Chaucer at least has pants on. He slips out of bed, wandering over to the child on the floor. Gosh, she's tiny. He picks her up carefully and walks back over, sitting on the bed with her cradled in his arms. He blinks, looking into her face.]

Bucky, she has my eyes. And my nose.

[He glances up at Bucky, looking shocked and alarmed.] She has your chin! And your hair!

[thetrudger]

Oh, shut up, you. [Since... he doesn't really know who it is. But he's guessing it's one of his bros.]

What, I didn't say anything.

[Sniggering is quieter now.]

[thetrudger]

Cole! I can hear you laughing, you know!

[blue_sniper]

...Huh. I think the Castle just gave us a kid. [Way to state the obvious, Bucky.]

[demontobeloved]

Me? Laughing? At you? No! Never!

[Yes.]

[thetrudger]

[He's looking at that kid skeptically until Bucky speaks. He rolls his eyes.]

Thank you for pointing that out, dear.

[Yeah. What now, Bucky?]

[thetrudger]

This isn't funny! Didn't you end up with a child, as well?

[blue_sniper]

[Did you just call him dear, Geoff? He glares and two can play at that game.]

Only trying to help, babe. [And now he grins at her, ruffling her hair and receiving a giggle in return. His voice turns soft as he talks to her.] Hey, kid. Guess you belong to us now.

Nope.

[And, thank god. They don't need a demonic baby shimmering around the place.]

So, who's the father?

[thetrudger]

[He smirks until the little girl giggles. He runs a hand across her cheek, then murmurs to Bucky.]

Do you want to hold her?

[thetrudger]

[Yes they do.]

She has two fathers, thank you very much. And the other is Bucky Barnes.

[takethat]

...Geoff, you wanna... tell me something?

[blue_sniper]

Of course I do. [He can't stop grinning as he holds out his arms for her.]

[thetrudger]

[Long paaaaause.]

...No.

[takethat]

No, no, I'd love all the juicy details!

[Maybe next year.

And, damn, he picked up on that.]

Huh. Never met him. Hope he's a good guy.

[thetrudger]

[He lifts her up and places a kiss on her forehead before putting her in Bucky's arms. He scoots over close to him so he can admire her.]

[thetrudger]

Nothing juicy here.

[Rosalie makes some random baby noises into the journal.]

Last I heard you don't swing that way, so clearly there's something to tell...

[thetrudger]

[Aw, Cole, you care! :') What a bro.]

He is. The very best.

[That may have been said a little quieter into the journal.]

[blue_sniper]

[he hugs her tight, putting his chin on her head and looking over at Geoff.] She's going to need a name.

[thetrudger]

[Phoenix X( ...There's a miffed silence.]
