[The sounds of a little girl giggling can be heard over the journal. Hannah, age five, has decided that she's going to take the journal and hide. She's doing this because she wants to draw in private and also, because she's pretty sure she's going to be in trouble in 1... 2... 3...]
Hannah!! [Jo is moving chairs and nearly scrambling on the floor to get to Chase the dog.]
Give it back. C'mon... just drop the head and go get a sock or a toy that is not that.
[Hannah giggles and stops drawing a picture of a flower.] He won the tug of war, Mom!
Hannah... this was a very special doll. He needs his head to stay on his body.
Why? It just popped right off!
[Jo will not try to explain to a five year old that she just beheaded Robert Chase and let the dog run away with his head. She will not have a panic attack about people remembering things when they get off losses. She will just try to calmly wait until the dog takes the toy instead of the head.]
Can someone take me to the pool?
