Oi, I think we all need t' have a talk. Where d'we wanna meet?

[/Saints Filter]

[this afternoon will find Murph out in the churchyard, keeping up with the small, spare vegetable garden the brothers have planted to feed themselves and their various coming-and-going visitors. there's the occasional spatter of dirt across the journal, but he's doing his best to keep it clean]

Anyone know what kinda stuff grows best aroun' here? I planted some stuff, but I dunno how it's gonna do. I know better... just 'cuz this place looks like home doesn' mean it's gonna behave like it all th' damn time.

Tomatoes and potatoes tend to be very resilient. If you keep the wildlife away, tomatoes will do very well, I think!

[She grew tomatoes in Istvan among many other plants and herbs, but tomatoes always seemed to do the best and produce the most crop.]

Mm! Seems like you've made a fair start. I think basil might do well here, though it's not directly edible .. Strawberries tend to do well in the summer, but I'm not sure considering the changing climate here...

[Since Tres has (shockingly) suggested exactly what she was thinking:] Do you require us at a specific time?

[Renee wanders into the churchyard and watches him for a moment. Being the city girl she is, she knows next to nothing about planting, but it's never too late to learn. She feels that if she's going to be staying here awhile, she might as well help out.]

Afraid I can't help you there. What have you already tried?

[She's feeling a bit homesick herself! All these talks of gardens...]

A-Ah, well, at the church we did a net spread over the vegetables that the deer liked. A fence will work too, if you're in the mood to build one of those. [Thinking...] The net would have to have small enough holes that animals couldn't get their snouts through...
