Sixth Lesson // We don't need no education
[Tonight finds Jono and his not!daughter Billie in the music room. Sure, he's shared his love of music with others, but this was different. Billie was calling him "daddy" for reasons he still can't quite fathom, so he's taken it upon himself to educate his daughter the only way he knows how; by introducing her to music that was awesome, classic, and infinitely listenable.]
Right. Not many people knew about The Impossibles even back then, but that's largely because they were a ska act from bleedin' Texas of all places, so they didn't get much exposure, save for the bit of touring they did back when I was in school.
[Anyone who ventures into the music room will find Jono and his rainbow-haired daughter seated in bean bag chairs, not far from an enormous pair of speakers pumping out Jono's musical selections, with Jono himself occasionally picking up a guitar to play along with a song or two every once in a while, with Billie drawing glowing musical note-shaped shapes in the air and letting them float around them. His journal's open, so those able to filter through the music will hear snatches of conversation as Jono makes some comment about each song as they begin.]

WHAT IS ALL THIS NOISE?!!

It's music, silly! All the better to know nothing, everything, and all the stuff that matters. I think.
[Jono nods, proud that his daughter is starting to learn.]
Sorry if we're bein' a bit loud. Hardly anyone ventures this way, so I didn't think anyone would mind it if I gave Billie a lesson in the best music of the past few decades.
[Jono lifts the remote, and turns the volume down just enough clicks for it to be bearable, though just barely.]
Don't think I've seen you around before. I'm Jono, and the bitty one's Billie.

Pl-pleasure to meet you. I'm Yamada! And nice to meet you too, Billie! Well that's, very interesting...<3(?) The best music of the recent decades, you say?

I like to think so. My tastes are a bit...eclectic, some say.
[Then the name registers in Jono's head. He vaguely remembers meeting this girl in Unova, though it's unsurprising that she doesn't recognize him.]
You know, you and I met once before. In Nimbasa City, when everyone was in Unova for that little bit. Not surprised you don't recognize me though. I had a bit more...well...face back then. Castle was kind to me for a bit.
[He pulls an old, worn photo of a young man with short brown hair and a confident smirk on his face from his wallet, and holds it up for Yamada to see.]
Remember that face, I bet?

...
[After a long silence, she asks the obvious question.]
Okay...but what the hell happened to your jaw?! The castle's so mean!

Castle didn't do this to me, luv. I did. I'm a mutant, made a bleedin' mess of myself when my powers came to me as a boy. Billie's lucky to be spared my fate, as she's made o' tougher stuff than I.
[He gives his rainbow-haired daughter a pat on the head, and she puffs out a small, rainbow-colored flame from her mouth.]
When we were in Unova, I was given...a temporary reprieve. Castle gives me my face back when it takes my powers from me, for whatever reason.

[Realization finally dawns on Yamada, and ever the tactful sort, she asks the other, far more obvious question:]
So how come you can talk without a mouth, anyway?
no subject
[He holds a hand up before she can say anything about that.]
I can't read your thoughts. Never been quite good enough with my telepathy to ever use it like that, so you've nothing to worry bout there.
