[Max has been spending a lot of time on the roof lately. She's been trying to think, and a lot of her thinking is done better at great heights. Tonight, however, she's got the journal open on the ground next to her, sitting with her knees pulled into her chest as she looks over the view.]

[dictated - Robert Chase]

I know you're kinda out of commission right now, so I didn't get a chance to give you a heads up, so sorry. But ... you're the only one I trust.

[she sounds oddly vulnerable right now. She hopes he gets what a big deal this is.]

Don't screw this up.

[/Chase]

Alright. Here's four-one-one.

Twenty-two year-old female transgenic infected with a super bug genetically targeted to someone else's DNA. She doesn't necessarily want to be infected anymore and she's starting to realize that here might be the place to get it fixed.

[a pause]

She knows it isn't going to last once she leaves the castle, but she's starting to realize that being stuck here is less of a possiblity and more of an actuality, so in case the guy the bug happens to be targeted for shows, she doesn't want to accidentally kill him.

[another pause and she gives up on the persona. It's not a front she can hold up for that long anymore, which kind of sucks.]

Look, I don't care why you do it. You want money, I can pay you, you want to do it out of scientific curiosity, that's fine too. My one rule is that you need a test run on me, Dr. Robert Chase is the one to do it.

You have a problem with that, then you don't have to play the game.

I did some research about the virus when I was home, and I can tell you what I know, and what I tried that didn't work. Otherwise, the world is your oyster. I'll take whatever I can get.

[and with that, she'll be on the roof for a while. Feel free to bug her.]

A foreign virus? I'm sure I can give it a wee shot. I have no problem with working with Dr. Chase, either.

I'm Dr. Carson Beckett

Blood samples, any details on the virus, what it's supposed to do, how it activates.

As much information as you can give me. From what I've heard, I've worked with less.

[You know what at this point he comes up here just to make sure Bucky isn't drinking himself to death up here. Steve is actually surprised to find Max instead.]

Max. [He'll nod in her direction and head on over.]

Hey. Everything okay? [He has to ask since this is the sad people spot.]

Of course. I'm in room 606, whenever you're ready. There's no rush.

[York's a little surprised that he can see this, but he does come from the 26th century. Genetics are hardly a mysterious thing to him.]

Have you thought about using nannites to target the viral genetic material?

Yeah. There's specifically a medical kind--well, there are probably a lot of medical kinds, but I have some, if you want to give it a shot.

[They're a special gift from the Doctor, of course.]

Oh, dear. That does sound like a rather tricky situation. Does Dr. Chase have any samples of your blood, already?

If nobody has a better idea, definitely worth a shot. The catch is we'd need a clean sample of the genetic code first, or else they might accidentally repattern to the last template--plain old human, that is.

Not a problem. I'll try my best to help.

Alright. Well, then, I'm the Doctor, and I've helped a few people with similar complaints in the past. I'd like to help you with your own, if you'll let me. ... I'd refer you primarily to Helen Magnus, York, and Galadriel, if you need anyone to vouch for my character.
valuedstrength: (b: yeah about that)

[He's taking a seat then.] So what are we thinking about?
