Fourth House of Westeros ♛ Written

I have learned a lot of this place. The people who have come before and the lands that have yet to be discovered. I have learned of the magic and of the First Generation. What is to come if we bide our time here too long.

Have there been many people to leave the castle? If the dangers be as they claim.

Have any of us gone into the Dead Zone or beyond for good?

[She's writing this just outside the castle itself. It makes her uneasy, but she knows the Starks are there. She couldn't leave Arya or Robb for all the gold the Lannister's held. This was just more of a musing.]

ooc: feel free to interrupt her outside.

Is this someone contemplating a prolonged vacation, or...?

Lois' report is probably as close as you'll come to it. Currently, anyway.

We got an updated version a few pages back, but there's at least one guy that's up and left.

It's widely accepted that the First Generation are those who were once in the castle, or a similar location, and left it permanently for the Dead Zone. As to the truth of that, well, they've been less than open about it all.

What do you mean by "us", then? They were all torn from their own worlds and brought here, the same as any of us.

Nope. People do move into the city, though.

It's an ill-defined label. I can think of at least half-a-dozen individuals I've known who had nameplates in the castle during my stay and then left for the Dead Zone, some of whom we've seen or spoken to again. Some had come from beyond the castle to begin with, and some had arrived here just as anyone else before departing. Does that answer your question?

[ Before she replies, she thinks of Nancy and Zeke. ]

Usually it's just First Gens. We don't know how many of them are there, though.

The length of time they've been here and knowledge they refuse to share with us are the only differences I see.

So have other residents, from time to time, and often far more destructively. Have they ever caused any deaths among the residents? I know other residents have, quite often. And others of the First Generation have helped us, occasionally. Without Flora, for example, we'd know nothing of the crystal power that still allows technology to function beyond the border.

It's important to understand that they're a very diverse group of individuals, much as we are here.

Forgive me, but you do sound quite prejudiced, as it is.

The only ones who have made any threats have done so regarding what they claim as their territory, and that they wish for us to remain outside it. As this is several weeks' journey from the castle by foot, and as we have also received recent reports of them vacating it, this is not a difficult injunction to follow. As for castle defense, we're far from helpless--or, well, we have been. I'll admit I've not looked into any specifics since my return, but there are several here who consider it their duty to do so, and they're hardly powerless.

Just about as much as anything else here. Which is vague, but we don't know about all of them. Caution's not a bad idea with them.

Some of them have said they've been here for fifteen years. Some even longer. Like decades.
