 [Danny had been doing a lot of thinking since getting back to the castle.  People had died, and without his powers he hadn't been able to do anything.  And that was something he just couldn't accept.  It shouldn't have happened.  And he had come to the decision that he could not allow something like that to happen again.  He goes back and forth trying to figure out how to phrase it for a bit, before finally just jotting a quick line down in the journal.]

Let's say that I wanted to learn how to fight.  Like a human.  Does anyone know how I could get started on something like that?

[Later you'll find a ghost sitting on the roof, silently forming ice crystal after ice crystal and stacking them in a small pile.  Bother him?]

[By now Loki had become relatively used to the castle in its 'normal' state. Then again, it had only been two days. He'd gotten a good bit of a look around on his first day, and some basic information. He'd been watching the journals since. Nothing of particular interest, despite the recent event that occurred during his arrival. A shame he'd missed it-- if he'd arrived earlier maybe he could have made something else of it.

Loki found himself on the roof for the second time since his arrival. Idle wandering would get him nowhere, but he found himself appreciating the openness and general being above everything of rooftop access while he browsed the journal rather than the confines of his room. And the air was good, too. But rather than settling for the more commonly accessible area of the roof, he'd made it a point to sit a bit off, further up where the shingles were. At another person joining the rooftop area he'd concealed himself. Since then he'd been watching the ghost and his melancholy ice summoning.

A while after the pile continued to grow, he grew tired of simply watching the stranger. He slid down from his place, down to the other's level, and removed the concealment so he was visible and able to be heard.] What, exactly, are you planning to accomplish with this? [He indicated the pile of ice crystals.]

[Danny fights the urge to just go invisible and leave. He didn't really feel like talking to anyone right now. But, yeah, that probably wouldn't work too well with that whole 'convonce everyone I'm a friendly ghost who is not in any way secretly plotting to make everyone's life miserable' thing. He raises an eyebrow at the new guy on the roof.]

Well, I figured the locals wouldn't appreciate a new icerink on the roof. People have a way of objecting when that happens. Loudly.

[... Icerink? What was that supposed to be, exactly? He merely raised a brow, the reference lost on him. He'll pretend he knows what you're talking about, though.] I suppose not. Though I'm sure you could find something more constructive than... This, to do with your abilities.

Oh sure I could. But we're kind of short on urgent needs for new icebergs around here. This lets me get rid of the extra cold energy without turning anyone into an ice statue.

I don't see how icebergs are constructive, either, dead one. [He managed a rather flat look. Though turning people into ice statues wasn't exactly a problem on his part, nor the cold energy build up. He now pulled a thoughtful expression, as if he had the slightest intention of being helpful.] It will be hot soon, if I am correct?

[Danny frowns.] Well... if you want constructive I could probably pull off an igloo. Don't really see the point in that.

...Yeah? Doesn't really help with right now, though.

It was merely a suggestion. [Stop bringing up all these newfangled terms, Danny, he's going to have to wish himself a dictionary. Or encyclopedia. With a lot of pictures.] ... What is this 'igloo'?

That sounds impractical, and a very bad idea all around. In this world, the house would melt.

Exactly. Which is why they're only used in the far north. And possibly the far frozen.

Either way, that's why I never bothered.

I see. I'm sure there are still other ways to let out the energy that aren't quite so wasteful. Make it a challenge, try some creativity. Maybe you can make ice copies of things in more detail?

Look, do you have ice powers?

I'm doing this now to release part of my built up ice energy before I over load on it and end up turning the entire castle into an ice sculpture. Which would be kind of, you know, bad.

I kind of think that's more important than figuring out a few details.

So, what does a ghost need to defend from?

Most of the time? Other ghosts. Human villains. Anything else that people need a rescue from.

Huh. [Yep, she has nothing else to say. She COULD help, but since no one is making her she doesn't feel like it.]
