I pulled a few favors in and I've managed to get the Miniature Golf in the city to let me have the whole place for a day. I asked for Saturday, but I'm pretty sure another favor owed could let me push it to Sunday if everyone's too busy on Saturday.

Either way, we've all had a helluva lot going on lately and I think we just need to reconnect with our friends that are here and remember that even when it's been a crap month - that we've still got each other.

Also, it'll be a nice reminder that some healthy competition is perfectly fine. I'll bring alcohol, for those that would prefer not to enjoy colored balls and windmills completely sober.

Just let me know if you're gonna be there and I'll start tallying up a list.

No, I didn't -- but that's the point of a gift. It's meant for times when it's not expected.

[Oh, she likes this edge to such a young girl. It definitely reminds her of herself.]

It's a gift. If you want to accept it, then you'll be able to see what it is.

[Not that he's even entertaining the idea of going, he just decided it'd be easier to get out of it if he spoke up. It's this new strategy where he's a liar.]

[Deflating slightly when she sees what's coming. But he had his excuse ready, so he sticks to the original plan...]

Yep. Oh and.... don't care. You're coming.

[Never mentioning his leg was magically healed. Stupid magic.]

It's miniature golf. It requires you hobbling around with a putter in one hand and a beer in another.

[He's assuming moping isn't a pass out of mini golf. :<]

[... When did this happen? Letting himself be bossed around... But he actually doesn't want to see what happens if he says no again.]

All right. Where is it?

[huntersdaughter]

I brought it with me to work today. At the Lux in the castle, do you know where it is?

Jo ]

[persequor]

I think so.

Arya ]

[huntersdaughter]

I'll be here until close, so you can come by any time.

[persequor]

[ Some unspecified amount of time later, Arya peeks into the Lux. ]

[huntersdaughter]

[And Jo is just coming from the kitchen, so she'll spot her and wave.]

I'm much taller now.

[persequor]

[ Arya quirks a tiny smile at her. ]

You don't look at all like an otter. I thought the castle might turn people into animals they look like.

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo laughs.]

Thanks. I think it might have something to do with how they need family. At least that's what I was guessing.

[Jo'll move toward her.] Do you want anything to eat? I do own the place, I can get you something if you're hungry.

[persequor]

[ She shakes her head. ]

No, thank you. I just ate.

[huntersdaughter]

Alright, then. [Jo'll move behind the bar and reach below the counter for a small box. It's not wrapped fancy or anything, just a simple purple, lidded gift box that has a single green ribbon holding the lid on it. She'll bring it up and set it onto the bar, sliding it forward. When it gets opened, Arya will find her gift.]

And for the record, I know I didn't have to, but taking care of an animal - especially when it's really a person on a loss is a big deal. I've had to take care of a duckling, dogs, a cat, and recently a plastic doll.

[persequor]

Plastic? [ She asks as she unwinds the ribbon. Opening the box, she grins widely. Arya sets the compass in her palm and moves it around, watching the needle spin. ]

[huntersdaughter]

I figured a girl that takes care of otters has to go on some pretty big adventures. This'll help you figure out your way back to the castle.

[persequor]

[ She beams at Jo. ]
