[Action/Dictated ~ A Rest day

[Dr. Beckett is sitting on a couch in the lobby. He's not dressed in his lab coat, as usual, instead dressed causally, and looking a bit bored.]

Does anyone here know of any good fishing spots around here?

Or does anyone want to do something? I find myself a wee bit bored today. I'll be in the lobby.

[Never one to lay about, Connor figured he might as well take a look around this place if he's going to be staying here for a while. He makes his way out into the lobby. To his credit he's only limping a little. He waves a little when he sees Carson]

[Henry is sitting outside of the lobby. He's been outside for most of the previous week and it's nice to see a familiar face.]

[Carson looks up as someone limps towards him.]

Connor, right. How are you?

[Even off-duty, he can't help himself assuming his professional caring tone.]

[He smiles]

Sound as an Irish hound dog. Yerself?

You'll have to chip some ice holes if you want to try fishing. And I don't know if the castle is much for stocking ponds anyhow.

Just a wee bit bored.

[Carson smiles back.] I want to try my hand at fishing, considering I never got the chance back... [He trails off...]

But I don't know if there's any decent spots around here.

Ice fishing might be interesting. And, sometimes, it isn't about catching fish.

Maybe the castle'll restock if I ask it to?

You could start a stock yourself. Ask the castle for a few fish, introduce them to the duck pond.

Same difference, I suppose, but that seems doable.

[He shrugs, smiling as he lowers himself down onto the couch next to Carson]

Well don' look at me. I jus' got 'ere after all. Never done much fishin', anyway. Always seemed like a waste of time t'me. It's jus' sittin' an' waitin' fer a fish t'come by, now, innit?

Well, it doesn't have to be fishing. I'd rather do something with someone than sit outside by myself fishing.

Well if yer jus' lookin' fer somethin' t'do I'm always game fer a drink, or some cards. [He grins]

[atadiscoverer]

You're asking a Scotsman if he wants a drink. [A matching grin.]

Aye, I'm game.

Arrite, then. Where's the best place t'get a drink 'round here?

Follow me.

[He stands, straightening his jacket, before starting to lead off towards the Lux.]

[Not needing any more invitation than that, Connor stands and follows]

[atadiscoverer]

[And Carson just leads his newfound friend into the Lux.]

It's a wee bit early, but, why not, aye?

[Connor smiles. Nothing more familiar than a bar, after all]

What're y'talkin' about? It's never too early.

The doctor in me disagrees.

[He smirks to Connor]

What d'you want? They've got nearly everything.

[shepherdsveritas]

Oi. Yer gonna deprive a thirsty wounded Irishman his beer?

[He lightly backhands Carson in the shoulder with a laugh]

If they don't have Guinness I think I'll jus' hafta leave.

[atadiscoverer]

The doctor in me isn't that stupid.

[He says, returning with a light punch. He knows the score when drinking with gaelic descendants]

Of course they do.

[And so, he orders their drinks, Carson not going with a Guinness, but some sort of Scottish beer, and there's also two shots of something. Carson picks up his own, raising it.]

<sub>[Vanyel was feeling much better after his backlash. The migraines were gone and his magic was about up to speed again. At least he did not want to vomit just from summoning a witch light anymore. Yfandes advised caution still, and he had no reason to go against it.

So when he sees Dr. Beckett, he feels the need to go over and settle beside him on the couch.]</sub>

I could go fishing, though I find I am not good at it. I tend to avoid it if I can, especially on circuit. I end up wasting more time than food I catch.

[Carson jumps slightly as Vanyel sits down, but quickly composes himself.]

Ah, Vanyel, good to see you still up and about. You still feeling okay?

[He smiles slightly at the thanks.]

Please, I was just doing my job.

I am doing much better, thank you.

And even so, you did not have to help, but you did. You would be surprised how rare that is in a person.

_{[He offered him a small smile, a genuine one, not one he put on for show.]}

[He laughs. Arrite, you can take a joke, man, but can you DRINK. He grins and raises his own shot]

Friendship. Slainte [He downs the shot, slamming the shot glass down on the bar and picking up his glass]

Oh that's good. I haven't had a drink since... [Yeah... not going there, tonight. He shrugs, taking a sip of his beer] well, let's jus' say it's been longer than I'd like.

Slàinte. [Another downed shot, and Carson picks up his own glass.

Connor might notice a slight difference in the accent on that salutation, there.]

I take it that more than ten minutes is longer than you'd like?
