6 Salvaged Memory Boards
[After the disappearance of his infant son, Huey did the only thing he could to take his mind off of things; burying himself in his work. He's completely finished the scaled-down Chrysalis weapon for the Western Outpost, and is just waiting for a good day to take it out for a spin. In the mean time, he's got a couple of other filters to get out of the way first.]
[Filtered to Jack O'Neill]
Hey, I've got your AUG and M1911A1 Custom finished, and spare ammo enough for both to last you a while. Wanna meet down at the shooting range to test 'em?
[Filtered to Aradia]
Hey! I've got the Chrysalis, the flying model done. Just waiting for a good day to give it a test flight. Have you heard from Tavros lately? I haven't seen him around in a while.
[Filtered to Father Tres]
Hey, I've finally got your new muscle finished. It took a while to get the mixture right, but I've been testing the flexibility and durability, and it should be comparable to your old one. Just gotta install it, and you should be back to 100% operational capacity!
[Filtered away from the First-Gens, anyone who would aid or pass information to them, as well as anyone who might seek to use his technology for personal gain or for nefarious ends.]
Hey there! Huey here. Now, you know how Aradia's been working on the Western Outpost, so we've got uhh...a place to go to keep an eye on things in the world outside of the castle? Well, she commissioned me to build some robotic sentries to guard it. I decided on two bipedal robots, equipped with both AI, as well as a pilots seat for emergencies, and a flying robot that I'll be installing a control system for into the Outpost itself. I recently finished construction on the flying model, which I call Metal Gear CHRYSALIS, and I just wanted to let everyone know. It's purpose is for security and aerial reconnaissance only, so if you see it flying around, don't be alarmed. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Robot Filter
That's an odd name.
Robot Filter
Robot Filter
How do you plan on protecting it from whoever took those... [give him a moment to remember the name] Iron..man suits?
Robot Filter
Well, I'm gonna write control override software, and incorporate it into each robot, so that in the case that someone tries to directly interface with it to try and take control of it, I'll be able to shut it down myself. The control console that's going into the Outpost'll have one too, which I'll teach people to operate, if they want. If worst comes to absolute worst, each robot I'm gonna build has one critical weakness that can be exploited in armed combat. In the case of the CHRYSALIS, it's got a radome dish under it's right wing, which can be targeted and destroyed, essentially rendering it blind. From there, you just have to destroy the AI unit in order to completely disable it.
Robot Filter
Robot Filter
Maybe we should give it a test run? How long would it take you to build a remotely piloted version of one of your suits?
Robot Filter
I can give it a live test, though.
Robot Filter
Are you sure? I mean...I don't want to hurt you or anything. I know what your suit's capable of, but I don't know how it'll stack up against your suit. To be honest, I've never had CHRYSALIS go up against an aerial target before. Maybe this'll be a good experience for me, so I can see how my designs work under different circumstances?
Robot Filter
I've got my Mark VII. So if it can handle this, it should be able to handle them.
On the bad side, if it can't... Well, I'll just try not to rough it up too much.
Robot Filter
Don't worry about it too much. The AI pod aside, CHRYSALIS is pretty tough. All of my robots are built to withstand a nuclear blast, as they were meant to provide backup for the mobile nuclear launch platform I was co-developing before I came here.
Robot Filter
NUCLEAR BLASTS, YOU SAY? ]
....Huh.
I'll keep that in mind.
Robot Filter
Did you...uhh...maybe want some technical readouts or schematics for what I'm building? I mean...I've shown them to some people, but you'd probably understand them better than most.
Robot Filter
Robot Filter - I apologize for how hax the Metal Gears are XD
[He plops down the technical schematics for Chrysalis, ZEKE, and REX into the journal for Tony's perusal.]
I figured Chrysalis would be mostly used for recon work, keep an eye on the Outpost from the sky, while ZEKE and REX keep watch from the ground, using both their size and armaments for intimidation. ZEKE's hip-mounted rocket boosters make it a lot quicker on land than it looks like it should be, which gives it an edge in a fight on the ground, and allows it to jump a pretty good distance, to get a better attack postion. It's also got a lot of exchangeable parts, so I can swap out different heads for different attack styles. REX on the other hand is all armor plating and brute force, meant to hunker down and withstand a lot of punishment before it retaliates.
Robot Filter - 'sall good
They seem a bit flashy, don't you think?
[ Pot? Kettle. ]
Robot Filter - =3
[And he laughs.]
Besides, aren't you the one who dropped out of the sky in red and gold armor, blasting Black Sabbath for anyone with ears?
Robot Filter

Anyway, I think a certain amount of "flashy" can be a good thing, when it comes to certain types of weapons. I mean yeah, a quiet, stealthy weapon is good when your goal is to dispatch and enemy and be done with it, but if you're trying to prevent a conflict from occurring via intimidation, then the flashier the better, right?
Huey
huey
im not sure exactly when
but yeah id like to see that if its ready today
i have to head out tomorrow
Aradia
Oh sure, I think we could arrange something. I've asked the ghosts to widen the window in my room, so I can remote pilot Chrysalis out onto the grounds. I've mentioned that I've been working on it under a filter to everyone trustworthy, so hopefully we won't have too many people thinking that those Iron Man suits the natives have aren't attacking. I actually talked to Tony Stark, and he's agreed to run a few drills with Chrysalis, to see if it's up to snuff.

Huey
huey (are* attacking?)
i got in a fight with him the other day and his suit has some decent firepower
anyway i can come up to your room where is it
Aradia (not quite yet. Ther'll have to be a separate log for that later)
Oh, I'm up in 1509, in Pietas Tower. We can go up to the roof, and I can pilot Chrysalis out of my room from there, just so we can get a good look at it in flight.
