[Flynn's walking around Hera cabin checking bunks and picking up some bits of trash on the floor. He smiles and looks at everyone. Hey, man, if he's gotta be a counselor he's gonna act like it... somewhat. He's found a pair of jeans and is wearing those along with that crazy orange shirt he found. He hasn't worn jeans in over 20 years so it's taking some getting used to but hey, when in Rome...]

Alright, there's gonna be a cabin check so let's make sure this place is straightened up, okay? I know, I know, who comes to summer camp to clean their room... especially since we're not exactly here by choice... but would you rather be stuck with extra chores instead of doing whatever you want to do? [He chuckles] Not that the place looks too bad as it is, of course.

Ah, and I'm afraid I didn't get a chance to introduce myself to all of you in the confusion yesterday. I'm Kevin Flynn and apparently I've been assigned to be the cabin counselor. [A smirk] Though I can't imagine why.

[Joining in picking up little bits of things, but he's used to being inside, what with the Castle. Still, he'd rather be out swimming at the lake or running around, maybe playing with Hesam. After all, he was pretty much the only other kid Sam knew.]

What happens if it's not clean?

[hm, while Colette's bunk isn't messy per say, there are bits and pieces that are decidedly left out of place. When she hears their dear councilor making rounds, she looks up from the journal and sets it aside]

Doesn't this seem a little... demeaning? Just because the castle has said we're supposed to be children at some strange 'camp', that doesn't mean that we necessarily need to go along with it.

Oh they make you do dishes, clean up around the camp, things like that.

[He smiles, watching his son. He really is a good kid. He's thankful every day that he's got this chance to spend more time with him.]

Oh I was never intending to treat you like children. I'm not going to force anyone to do anything they'd rather not do. It's not my style.

[He shrugs, spreading his hands] All I'm doing is spreading the word. It's up to you whether or not you'd prefer to adhere to it.

[oh, he's a sharp one. She smiles]

How very understanding of you!

[doop doop, looking up from her journal flipping to see this kid... wow, what kind of kid actually sticks around to clean up? Actually color her a little impressed]

You're quite responsible.

[He returns that smile]

I believe that understanding, my dear, is the foundation upon which friendships are built.

That's a nice thought. [but she wonders what he would say if they end up with these dumb extra chores]

So, you are our assigned councilor, hm? I should probably introduce myself then, I'm Colette.

[He's had to do worse in his day. Besides, some hard work is good for you.]

So they tell me. It's a pleasure to meet you, Colette.

You seem to be taking your job really seriously.

In Athena cabin with Alan.

Oh it's not so bad. Alan can give you a hand if you need it. I'm in Hera with Sam. Any idea where CLU is?

[He smirks, stepping a little closer]

Honestly I'm trying to be a good influence on my son. It wouldn't look very good if his old man started slacking off if he was given a job to do.

[hmm.... what a good father]

Ah, so you're related? He seems very responsible.

[He nods] He's my son, yes. I'm glad we were put in the same cabin. [He watches Sam for a moment] Although It's been about twenty years for me since I've seen him at this age.

Kids are cutest when they're young, hm?

[ugh ugh, pushing down those feelings, brb] It sounds like your enjoying this time with him.

[Knock knock, you have a visitor, Hera cabin. Felix walks in with a wide grin on his face. This actually isn't a good sign, for those unacquainted with Felix's moods. Watch yourself.]

[Sam frowns at that. Washing dishes, ew. Well, maybe it could be fun but only if his dad was there with him. It's still motivation for Sam to continue picking things up, folding his sheets as neatly as a seven-year-old can.]

I don't wannna do that.

Flynn, where are you?

[he is so not ready for this]

[Sam glances over at Colette when she speaks to him, looking a little curious himself.]

My dad's doing it. [Totally the best reason.]

[ah, she looks back and forth between the two. Hm, family... how nice]

That's still the sign or someone responsible. [she can't help it, her inner dorkiness comes out around kids, so she lowers her voice as if she's telling him a secret]

In fact, when I was your age I never wanted to do what adults told me to do.

[Sam leans in close as she lowers her voice, his curiosity getting the best of him.]

Really?

[Sam glances up from where he's trying to re-fold his sheets on his bunk when Felix knocks. With a slight timidity, he pulls open the door and stares up at their visitor.]

[Flynn returns Felix's smile with a cheerful one of his own, stepping up behind his son.]

Good morning.
