[ about time this got up but here's your favorite orange alien ready in the fields with a few mats scattered around, arms across her chest waiting for the last of the campers to settle in ]

Welcome everyone. I am Starfire and I will be here to teach you hand to hand combat. I do not what all your different levels are, so we will start with the basics.

[ feel free to go nuts here and i'll put up a few sections: training mats, learning the basics of defense, free play (basically do what you want) ]

[ this is basically for those who have a little bit more knowledge with hand to hand combat. so here's where you can show off what you know! feel free to ask starfire about anything. you could even challenge her if you're brave ]

[ so if your character knows NOTHING about fighting with their hands, come here and kory will be happy to teach you some basics and set you up with other kids that are at the same level. ]

[ do whatever you want here. seriously have fun, play fight, anything she just wants to see everyone having a good time ]

[Yay hand to hand! Shiki knows hand to hand. So she just moves straight to the training mats and begins warming herself up a little.

Anyone want to challenge a small, adorable, pink, 15 year old girl?]

[Billy is used to mostly using his magic, but he figures he might as well learn some hand to hand moves for self defense purposes. Kate and Cassie taught him a few (and whooped his butt doing it) and some more knowledge couldn't hurt.]

Seriously, weirdest summer camp ever.

[Danny had picked up a bit of fighting skills over the past year. He knew how to throw a punch, at least. But nearly everything he knew about it depended on his ghost powers.]

[Hesam has no experience whatsoever so he's just gonna stand here rather meekly and looking around to see what the others are doing]

[She's showing up a bit late to class, hurr hurr, but jumping right into the ring is a great way to fake having been here all along. She sidles right in, moving across from Shiki and grinning.]

Newbie to the camp, huh?

[ she'll smile at the boy and wave him over ]

First off, do you know how to fight minus hand to hand?

I think it is a nice reprieve from the past events. I am glad I was given the chance to help the children learn to fight so they can protect themselves in the future.

[ smiles ]

So tell me what you know already.

[ aw kory's gonna notice him sitting away and come over to him, leaning down a bit ]

What is your name child?

[He shrugs evasively. Danny was kind of hoping to avoid admitting everything he knew about fighting he'd learned from superheroing.

With his luck it probably wasn't going to happen.]

I've picked up a few things. Mostly how to dodge.

Dodging can only keep you standing for so long. You must learn how to counter and keep yourself protected. It does not have to be used to fight, but to protect and help.

Show me your ready stance.

Hesam. [he'll offer up a small smile]

I wanna learn how to do that.

Um, okay?

[He slips into an obviously amateur stance. Amateur, but practiced. Though there is something odd about it, almost as if the main intent was to be in a position to take to the air at any moment.]

You look skittish.

[ she'll take her stance, coming back him with careful movement, hands ready ]

Hesam. I am Starfire, it is very nice to meet you. [ returns the smile ]

What do you want to learn? How to defend yourself?

Fight or flight, right? Maybe I'm more on the flight side of it. [All technically the truth.]

Flight can only safe you for so long.

Try to fly from me.

Um, what? [He hastily goes over the conversation in his head, trying to figure out when he had given away that he could fly.]

Try to flee from me. [ she doesn't know haha just how she asked him to run ]

...Right. Um, okay?

I will show you that sometimes flight is not always the best way.

[so she'll wait to see him try to run from her ]

[He'd talked himself into a corner again, hadn't he. Danny blows out his breath and makes a half-hearted attempt at a dodge.]

[ she's not gonna take it easy on him, but she won't harm him either

instead she goes for him, matching his steps and making quick motion to catch his arm and hold it behind his back]

You must not be so predictable.

[It is instinct that makes him twist at the last second and turns the edges of his wrists intangible. Almost immediately he attempts to reverse the movement as he hopes that she hadn't noticed that.]

[ too bad kiddo, she's been in enough fights to notice little things ]

Good! Like that. It seems you have the ability to break free, at least from that hold.

[ she's gonna be watching for those little things again ]

Now, how would you counter once you've gotten free?

[If Danny could still lie he would concoct a sarcastic and completely useless answer. If he was telling the entire truth he would say that he would attack with a blast of ectoplasmic energy and phase into the ground in the moment of distraction. But neither one of those are answers he wants to give. ALl he could do was give another, slightly less suspicious, answer.]

Punch and try to get more distance?

Starfire? That's a pretty name.

[nod nod] Mmhmm, I wanna protect myself so nobody has to and I can help others, too.

[Shiki grins right back. She sees what you did there... but she's also not exactly one to rat out a fellow camper! She keeps herself moving just a little bit, making sure she can stay as warm as possible.]

Yep, pretty much! Have you been here for longer or something?

A strong ambition.

Do you know any moves already?

You can try that, but a punch will only distract your offender for so long. What happens when they reel back and come after you with rage in their eyes.

What do you do then? [ she'll twist free, taking a hold of his wrist again, pulling him up off the ground ]

[Half a dozen different answers come to mind. He could go intangible. Blast them with ectoplasmic energy. Freeze them. Put up a shield. But none of them were the kinds of answers he could give without giving himself away.]

Duck?

[As she grabs his wrist and pulls him up he shifts his weight and flips himself up higher into the air, in a move that would be completely impractical for anyone who wasn't used to being lighter than air.]

Not really. I mostly just use magic to fight.

Years. [She bounces a touch on the balls of her feet, easy and loose.] Ever fought in a ring before?

I know how to do this...

[raises his arms up to protect himself with the right braced stance]

Not in a ring, no! I've done a little bit of training on the mat earlier, but all of my experience comes from real life! ...Well, I say life.

Right, there's no other kind of life. [Hands up!] I've been fighting for years, so I just wanna know how easy I should be going on you.

[She grins, and slides into a fighting stance, herself.]

Easy? I had to save my life, and the lives of my best friends, just through fighting... don't go easy on me! I'm pretty sure I can take it~

Fair enough!

[So she'll move forward to swing a punch!]

Before we get into the actual fight, I figured I ought to ask - do you want to plan out this fight beforehand and figure out what happens, or do you want to just play with it and see where it goes? :D
