[ wherever the hell they are filter ]
[ It's only been a day and it's already starting to get under her skin; everybody's behavior around her. They were saying things or just plain acting weird, and making her anxious. Feeling vulnerable made her uneasy and riled her up a little, so she decided to go explore to take her mind off everything -- the large Pyranees faithfully by her side. At least she had him, even if Beth and her parents were far away and probably never going to come here. She wandered around the edge of the forest and discovered a lone cat out there.
She hadn't realized how sickly and weak it was until it was too late. She might have roughed it up accidentally, along with the dog. But as soon as the dog was barking too loud to be a good sign, she called him off. Of course, with a motionless cat on her little hands, Kate panicked.
Now she digs through the earth, trying to create a hole big enough to put the cat in. Since she's a ways off from the castle, she doesn't have to worry about being spotted. She can lie about being covered in dirt easily. ]
