[Someone's out early, campers, already set-up by the lakeside, in one of the much quieter corners, as to not disturb anyone using the lake for swimming or anything.

Yes, Carson is out fishing in the early morning. It doesn't matter if he doesn't catch anything, but he's there. His line's cast out, his feet are up on a cooler and he's reading.

Nothing but peace and quiet. Someone come and ruin it for him?]

[River's never been much for fishing, but she is in the lake as a swimming hole. Or rather, she's been using a different part of it and trying not to splash about too much. Eventually she tires of the water and climbs out. Wrapping a towel around herself, her trademark curls wet and clinging to her face, she wanders over to his side]

You look like you're having a good time there. Mind if I grab a beer?

You'd have to go somewhere else for it.

[That's right. Carson is fishing... Without beer!

I don't usually drink. More relaxing if I don't.

And it's been a long bloody time, River. How've you been?

[Being surrounded by a family of almost-alcoholics, River was taken by surprise when she found his cooler full of nothing but water and soda. Damn, Klaus still hadn't returned her flask and the family was starting to get on her nerves]

[She takes a bottle of water and gulps some of it down]


Me? Tired of dealing with younger relatives. My god they're all squabbling like five year olds.
